While I have been horribly inactive on Facebook lately, the kennel has been very busy! There are several brand new litters and a few more in the works! I have young males and females available for adoption. I am located in Southport NC, but am often in SC on the weekends (Conway, Murrells Inlet, Georgetown, and Moncks Corner in the next few weeks).

I am so happy to have new babies in the house again! I think we have 6 little beans from Spearmint (pied blue) and Wildcard (colorpoint agouti with several likely recessives). I can't wait to see how these babies develop! Spearmint is also the sister of Pirate, my dark pied patch boy and Wildcard's mother produced a DPP offspring. Crossing my fingers that I could maybe get lucky again...

Between phone issues and a very busy spring/summer, it has been far too long since I managed to post an update! There have been a few new, adorable gerbils added to the family from other breeders recently. I had a litter born last week and 3 more on the way! Keep an eye out for pictures and updates. Several of these new babies will be available for adoption!

It has been a very busy week here at the Surf Shack! We had 3 litters born all within a few days of each other!

Chinchilla (grey agouti) had her second litter with Shamen (mottled slate). She had 4 pups and it still doesn't look like she's going to give me a solid grey agouti! But there are 3 lovely mottled pups.

Peppermint (mottled black) took her sweet mottled! Hawkeye (blue) and I was close to trying her with a different male when she surprised me with a big litter of 8. It also looks like she has passed on her splashy mottling!

Edie (mottled blue) and Ulmus (black) must have hit it off right away because she gave me 5 pups almost exactly 25 days after meeting him! There are also some surprise recessives floating around in there because I wasn't expecting the light colored pup!

Risa (dilute agouti female bred by Jo Kelley) and Ulmus (black dilute carrier male from Genesis Gerbils) are excellent parents and produced another large, colorful litter! These little guys will be up for adoption very soon and I will be confirming genders this weekend! There is one blue in the group and they will all carry the recessive gene for dilute.

For those of you who followed the saga of tiny little Uno...he has continued to thrive and has grown into a pretty solid little man. He was paired with another dark eyed honey male who happened to be the only male in a litter of 6. Solo and Uno are doing well and available for adoption as pets.
