Beginning to explore the idea of rehoming a dog. Just the idea makes my heart break - I'm not sure how any other small breeders (anyone really) ever do this as they are such a part of us. What are your thoughts?

Our "Memories of Ottawa" (Otto) lounging in his retirement. We're growing gardens and raising chickens, but, boy, do we miss raising puppies sometimes. Hoping this finds all the Ottosons and Ottodaughters ;-) doing well.

Update on Ares (Freya x Otto 11-13-23). He is loving life on the farm with his bodyguard. Ares is 50 pounds now, and, apparently, a play-toy for his "big brother". LOVE these updates from puppy parents! Photos: Left in April and right is May. He's silvering very nicely.

Miss Freya is back in her surgical suit again. At 4 weeks post-op she had a little reaction to her (inside) sutures and her incision site opened on one side. She's healing up well though. We hope we're past this now. Phew!

UPDATE: Just remember "routine"surgeries don't always go easily. .. first Freya had the reaction to anesthesia, then we've had to nurse her incision all week (swelling and seepage) AND a few calls with the vet after hours.

We think she's on the road to recovery now!

Miss Freya is sporting her retirement dress. She's crying a little - it's her party, right?! Poor baby girl.

This makes it official. We won't be having any more litters. We don't know what the future holds, but we're ready for it, come what may.

Our last and final placement. This puppy is now known as "Ares" (the boy who stayed with us a few weeks). He now has a personal Newfoundland bodyguard and a family who loves him to pieces!

Day 4 of our time with Freya & Otto's (11/13/23) green collar puppy. Our dogs are happily playing with him. His momma keeps stealing his toys, and his daddy is even warming up enough to wag his tail when they're close. (Otto has always been indifferent to his puppies). If all goes well he will go to his new home on the 30th.

This boy has become available by no fault of his own. We will be picking him up this weekend and would love to hear from you if you're interested in a large silver boy. He is 17 weeks and 35+ pounds.

Miss Ally is retiring today. We're waiting for Doc Fallon - Ally had a bad experience at an emergency hospital in 2020, so we sedated her before I left the office. 😭

Miss Ally got her hair blown out (mostly) with our industrial dryer for the FIRST TIME EVER!! We used a snood and both loved on her. I'm so proud of her. 🩷🐩🩷 She'll be 5 in July... that's a big accomplishment!
