Today we announce the passing of Tina, aka Tiny. She came to us from the Fort Worth shelter in 2021. Was told she couldn’t stand so we brought her home so she could spend her remaining few days surrounded by love. Then she went on and lived 2 years and one day more before her body gave out. The other dogs didn’t like the special treatment she received but she deserved it. She was estimated to be 17yo.
It’s been a rough time around here. In the last 14 months we’ve lost not only Tina, but Wall-E, a hoarding survivor from Arkansas. bEAr, from the Dallas shelter.
Ollie girl and Bandit, two strays that called this place home.
The losses have been hard to bear.
Not one of these passings was expected.
Hug your loved ones until words aren’t needed.

Blanche is a 10 year old spayed female who weighs around 11 pounds. She is super friendly, soft, and loves pets and snuggling. She was sharing a kennel with another small dog (female chihuahua), who has since been adopted. She was happy to visit with myself and another volunteer and is looking for a loving home. Medical notes:
Dog is very wiggly, hard to examine but showed NO aggression during exam
Oral disease: heavy tartar, missing teeth, needs dental cleaning
Ocular problems: hazy OU
Skin conditions: staining around nose and mouth

Please note that some dogs are housed in indoor kennels, so if you don’t see the dog you are interested in, ask a staff member or volunteer for assistance.

Anyone remember (Tiny) now Tina?? She came to our group a year ago from the Fort Worth animal shelter when we had an available foster. She was reported to be 16 and had trouble standing. Well she’s still going strong and loving today’s colder weather! She has adapted to the 3 other senior dogs and her foster has adapted to her ‘husky’ ways ❤️❤️

The love a dog gives creates a special bond not fit for words and Seniors are no different so please consider a senior as your next family member either through us or another rescue 🙏🙏

She is blind, cannot hear, has no teeth, walks in circles, her breathing is labored, and she cries out with a bark/howl that’ll break your heart.😰 She does allow us to pet her, and carry her but we need her out ASAP. DUMPED AT 14 YRS OLD 💩💩😡🤬🤬🤬🤬

Zoey was surrendered to the shelter after 14 years of living with the same family.

She is severely overweight and has arthritis and difficulty getting around easily as a result.

Zoey lost everything she’s ever known and loved. Now she finds herself in a hard, slippery kennel with hundreds of loud barking dogs around her. She’s also recovering from surgery to remove multiple masses. She can’t catch a break.

Zoey has been living this nightmare for 2 weeks already and she desperately needs a soft, loving place to land. At 14, we don’t know how much time she has left but we know Zoey deserves the best we can possibly give her to make those days comfortable and full of love. Despite all she has endured, Zoey is sweet and affectionate. She has no experience with other animals but she seems quite happy to ignore them.

Can you please give Zoey a share and let’s get her out of here. Seniors like her do not do well in a kennel, especially at her size.

Miss Annie is a complete doll & it angers us to think someone allowed her to suffer in this condition for as long as she has. Miss Annie has interacted with other dogs in the play yard but did not solicit attention from them. Please share! She is urgent!

Status: YELLOW - Shelter notes:

“I am seeking an immediate rescue for Miss Annie.  She came into the Coachella Valley campus as a stray with medical.  Now located at Western Riverside. Prominent underbite and cropped ears noted.  We have currently treated Annie for multiple scabs/healing wounds around the base of the right ear.  There is mild swelling on the left side of the face with inflammation and thickening of the skin ventral to the ear--heavy scabbing and ulceration is present, with several wounds draining purulent exudate.  Left ear canal is swollen/stenotic and contains purulent exudate.  Possible vertigo due to swelling of the face and ear infection.  Overall abscess appears to be healing well, swelling on left side of face appears to be resolving. Vet staff let me know that she is a sweet girl who seeks attention while being treated for her medical. When walking Annie back to her kennel, she does not react towards other dogs in the kennel.”

Meet 8 year old Lee, , Who landed himself at the “shelter” on 04/13/21. Look at how sad his face looks, rightly so, he is out on the KILL LIST and is running out of time. Despite putting out that LA is finally “NO KILL” don’t believe their false propaganda. This poor guy is in danger of being KILLED due to having generalized skin condition and ear infection. If he is KILLED it won’t be counted as a KILL cuz he will be KILLED for medical reasons. As you can see having a skin issue and an ear infection is treatable so KILLING him would be unjustified. Don’t believe the false “NO KILL” propaganda. He needs out before it’s too late. He was groomed and the groomer said that he was sweet and easy.

These beautiful dogs are (11 years old) and Girl (10 years old). They are a bonded pair and they love each other so much. Their owner passed away and they are now at Seminole County Animal Services. They will be available for adoption soon. They need a home together (they cannot be separated), with no other pets and no small children.
