This is never easy. I definitely cry along with the owners every time we learn of the passing of one of our dear pets that we sit for. RIP sweet Trigger. 💔 You will definitely be missed. You were always such a good boy. 😢. Cross over the rainbow bridge now. Hope to see you again on the other side!

We’ve got 5 dogs are our house today! This is the most we’ve ever had at one time. But everyone is getting along great.
Oscar (big black labradoodle) is on the last day of his 10 day stay. Gracie, Coco, and Annabelle are the 3 smallest ones and they are from the same family and just got here yesterday. Sophie (tan bernadoodle) is one of my best friends’ dog who ended up taking a last minute weekend getaway and I could not turn her down since she is one of our faves. ☺️🤷🏼‍♀️😜🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶

Spring Break week 2024 — Between Drop-ins and Boarders, we have been caring for a total of 15 dogs and 1 cat this past week! It’s truly a family effort and I get lots of help from my husband JC and daughter Ellie. Also, it was Ellie and my birthdays this week as well! 🎂🎉

A mysterious and could be serious respiratory illness is making its way around the area. I have heard rumor that it has already hit a couple of local boarding facilities. Please be careful! It’s recommended to try to avoid dog parks, boarding facilities, and other places where your dog may come into contact with other unknown dogs.

Last week we had 6 cats to care for! We don’t keep cats at our house but are always happy to provide drop-in service. We make sure the kitties are well-fed, get treats, fresh water & clean bowls, clean litter boxes, and even get their meds if required.

It’s getting bad. 🥺 Our animal control centers in Coweta, Fayette, and surrounding counties are extremely overcrowded and being forced to euthanize dogs weekly due to not having space to take in more.

#1 thing you can do — Adopt, don’t shop! We don’t need more breeders and puppy mills continuing to breed dogs when homeless dogs are being killed daily. Help reduce the demand and they’ll reduce the output. (There are many breeds and lots of hypo-allergenic dogs and puppies also available for adoption if that’s what you want or need)
#2 - Consider fostering, if you can’t commit to adopting. Animal rescue organizations can save more from being euthanized if they have committed foster homes and they will work to find adopters. I fostered rescues for years and it was a true joy!
#3 - Make Animal Rescue organizations a priority for your charitable giving and/or volunteer and community service time. There are several great ones in our area that are working so hard to save animals. They need food and supplies desperately and volunteers to assist their efforts.

We had the pleasure to get to know these two sweet babies over the course of the last two weeks. Stewie and Ava were so fun to have around, very well-behaved, and they just loved all the cuddles they could get!

Retractable leashes are very dangerous!
I don’t use them.

We have enlisted a NO RETRACTABLE LEASH policy in our lobby. Please see the front desk to borrow a rope leash during your visit. This policy has been initiated for the safety of all of our patients, clients and team members.

Did you know...

Dogs who are 10 feet away are NOT under control, even if they are on a leash?

Dogs on long leads can dart into traffic and get hit by a car?

The retractable cord itself is a hazard and can severely injure people and animals (including degloving and amputation of limbs!)?

The locks can fail, resulting in complete lack of control of your dog?

Dog fights can not easily be avoided on a retractable leash?

KEEP YOUR PETS ON A TRADITIONAL LEASH FOR EVERYONE'S SAFETY!
