Katniss went to heaven tonight. My heart hurts so bad. She was sick for months and they think she had FIP. She had lost 50% of her body weight and it was time to end her suffering.

I know these photos and comments are painful to look at but declawing won’t end until we shine more light on this terrible thing. Every single day, kitties are going through this and their lives are changed for the worse from being declawed.
This callous and insensitive mindset in the veterinary medicine field must change. I also know that there are many veterinarians and vet techs who are against declawing and cringe when this from other professionals in their field. We also need your help more than ever to educate your colleagues and coworkers to become more humane and compassionate vetmed professionals and stop declawing kitties.
I know I am mostly preaching to the choir on here but we need to share these photos and let our families, friends, and veterinarians know that we need this to end.
I was recently told by some vet techs these things.
“I need to get a real job and that what I’m doing isn’t making a difference.“
I was told they have, “hundreds of cats who come to their clinic that are declawed and those cats are just as happy, if not happier, than the ones that do have their claws.”
I was told, “if ALL declawing was banned then there would pretty much be no families with cats and kids and that children would miss out on that ball of fur to love on.” I was told, “if you laser declaw them at only a few months old, the next day they are running and playing like nothing every happened. “
I was told, ”if someone is going to have a declaw surgery for their cat then that must mean that they are also getting them vaccinated and fixed and at least they are taking care of them.”
I was told, “declawing isn’t the worst thing that could happen to them since animals are neglected and tortured daily.”
I was told, “grow up and realize the world is not going to be how I want it to be” and “if the cats that have been declawed could talk they would be thankful for being adopted instead of sitting in a cage for years.”
My friends…I am not afraid to say that I know the time has come to end declawing and we CAN have a North America where all kitties are safe from it.
I see a cat world like it is in the UK and 27 other countries where cats, babies, furniture and families have a happy and healthy coexistence and where kitties have their paws intact and their claws.
I really need your help though to start spreading this mindset in anyway you can. And remember my Higher Ground Philosophy. Don’t make them the victims by threatening them. The only victims are all the kitties who are being declawed.
