Putting out feelers for team horses! We are looking for horses to be donated for our team to use during the school year. We are looking for a range of abilities, from walk-trot pleasure type to advanced/ ranch riding. This could be a semester commitment or year long. Bodywork is esstential for both horse and rider. Horses act like a mirror image of their rider. If the rider is experiencing pain, or an asymmetry in their body, it will be directly transferred to the horse who will try to adjust themselves to balance the rider, sometimes to the detriment of the horse. Both the horse and rider should be receiving routine bodywork to maintain performance. The cost of this fabulous bundle is $190. If you would like to purchase multiple bundles, you may do so for $150 for each additional bundle. Crystal McFarland, a certified equine massage therapist with Clyde's Comet, offers massage for your equine partner. Each session includes a discussion with the owner about any known current mobility, or performance issues. The session will include before and after photos to better visualize the changes that were attained during the equine massage. Crystal achieves her results with manual myofascial and cranio/sacral techniques. She also may use red light therapy and/or kinesiology tape as needed. After the session is complete a report is shared with the client, and followup stretches or exercises may be suggested for ongoing supportive care. Happy first day of September, and happy Friday!! 🐎

Pixie is getting some rehab work done. Her farrier and I are working together to help her one foot hopefully grow more correctly. Her one back foot is twisted and therefore she not able to walk correctly. By massaging her back leg I was able to relieve enough tension that she can now have a more normal gait and better hoof placement. The top video is before my first bodywork session. The bottom video is after her very first session with me. Such a drastic difference in one session! I'm excited to see how this progresses! Her owner says she no longer walks like a pirate! Clyde’s Comet: Orbiting Tippecanoe County, Indiana.

Hello! My name is Crystal McFarland and I am a Certified Equine Massage Therapist through the school of Midwest Natural Healing for Animals located in southern Indiana. I received my certification in April of 2019. I currently live in Lafayette, Indiana, and my current service area includes Tippecanoe and portions of the surrounding counties in Indiana. My love of animals started at a young age growing up on a farm in rural Indiana. I was a 10 year 4-H member raising and showing many animals throughout that time. When I went off to college I chose to fuel that passion by pursuing a degree in Animal Sciences at Purdue University; graduating in 2005 with my Bachelor's Degree. After graduation I obtained a full time job immediately, and started my first business as a pet sitter a few years later. I have been a pet sitter in the Lafayette area since 2008, offering services to both small and large animals. Then in 2018 following issues with my horse, I was reintroduced to the idea of the many healing benefits that equine massage therapy can offer. The more I saw my own horse benefit from the therapy, the more I wanted to learn this application for myself. I chose to pursue my certification from Midwest Natural Healing for Animals due to the wealth of knowledge the instructor has; the in depth online coursework (3 months of preliminary online training completed at your own pace); 4 days of hands on training following the online courses; and continued mentorship available after the completion of the program. Another added benefit includes a variety of continuing education courses available to further my animal healing abilities. At this time I am a certified Level 1 Massage Therapist, and I am also in classes to learn about myofascial release, level 2 massage therapy, kinesiology taping, energy work, and red light therapies for continued education and certifications in the future.
