Happy belated birthday to Mason, a Rottie/Boxer mix! He’s an energetic boy who loves playing fetch, catch, and other ball games. He enjoys car rides, going for walks, and does well in doggie play groups, although he can be selective about his doggie friends. When he finds a dog he likes, he’s happy to play and chase forever! He can be a bit shy at first and needs slow introductions to new people, but once you’re his friend, you’ll be friends for life. He greets his favorite volunteers and staff with a full body wiggle! Mason will need a quiet home and an experienced owner. To learn more about Mason, check out his bio at https://foha.org/pet/mason/ .

If you'd like to meet any of our dogs or cats, submit an application (no obligation) or stop by the shelter between noon and 5pm on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Appointments are preferred and get first priority for meeting dogs and cats.

FOHA’s Diamond Dog Program gives dogs like Mae the extra time and patience to rediscover trust and joy, no matter their past history. With consistent training, enrichment, and one-on-one care, these “diamonds in the rough” begin to shine.

Each year, about 20 Diamond Dogs find families who see the good waiting to shine. Every adoption changes two lives and keeps the cycle of rescue and hope alive.

Help more Diamond Dogs shine this holiday season. Support our Tails of Hope campaign by donating today. https://foha.app.neoncrm.com/forms/tailsofhopesocialmedia

** NEW FOHA ANIMALS AVAILABLE **

Our intake team has been busy saving some AMAZING animals. Now we need your help to spread the word to help find them homes so we can save even more! Say hello to some of FOHA's newest arrivals: Charmin Ultra Soft, Itty Bitty Baby, Glinda, Krueger, Mini Cooper, Nessarose, and Punkin' (website links in captions).

You can see all of our adoptable animals on our website. If you see one that might be a good fit for your family, submit an application (no obligation) or stop by the shelter between noon and 5pm on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. If you'd like to meet an animal in foster, please submit an application so we can arrange a meeting.

FOHA is a 501c3 rescue and all dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and on preventatives. Most of our animals are pulled from rural shelters to help them free up space, so every animal adopted or fostered opens a spot to save one more!

Hi, I’m Nelson! I’m a super smart and energetic dog who absolutely loves to play fetch—just say the word “ball” and I’m all in, ready to chase and bring it right back to you. I do best in an active home with an experienced owner who can help me channel my energy and intelligence through training and play. A large fenced backyard would be my dream spot to run and chase balls until I’m happily tuckered out. Because I can be unpredictable and shy around strangers, I need a calm, patient family with no kids under 16, and no cats.

You can read more about me on my page - https://foha.org/pet/nelson2021/ I'm most comfortable meeting new people with one of my FOHA friends by my side. Please submit an application first and FOHA will arrange the rest. Thanks for considering me!

Hi, I’m Doris! I’m confident, smart, and beautiful, with a sassy streak that comes from knowing exactly what I want. I’m not afraid to share my opinions, but I’m also affectionate, playful, and love a good cuddle once we’ve bonded. A few of my favorite things are tossing around stuffed toys, going for walks, dressing up in fun costumes, and curling up in soft blankets. I enjoy companionship, but I also value my independence and appreciate having time and space to do my own thing. If you’re the kind of person who appreciates a one-of-a-kind companion and is willing to meet me where I’m at, I just might be the gift you didn’t know you needed.

This is Mochi, a sweet 5-month-old, 3lb female domestic shorthair! She’s new to FOHA and we’re still getting to know her – we’ll post more about her once we know more about her personality. But we do know that she needs to have a social cat companion, as all kittens under 6 months old at FOHA are required to go home with another kitten or to a home with another social cat. To learn more about Mochi, check out her bio:

Say hello to Wally , a 6-year-old, 81lb male Great Pyrenees/Lab mix. He’s a very handsome boy as you can tell from his photo. He’d love a home with a lot of room and a yard with lots of space to explore. He would do best in a quiet, adults-only home without other pets. He would also benefit from an experienced owner who is familiar with his breed. Could that be you? Wally needs a special home, so to meet him, please submit an application and one of his staff or volunteer friends will reach out to set up a meet and greet. Hey there, I’m Dylan! Life hasn’t always been kind to me, but I’ve bounced back with resilience. It might take me some time to trust new people, but once I do, I’m the most loyal and affectionate companion you could ever have. I’ve made great friends with the shelter volunteers and staff — some even take me on weekend getaways, and we have a blast together! I’m housebroken and well-behaved inside, making me a wonderful companion. I’m not a high-energy dog — just spending quiet time together makes me happy.
