FOHA Night Before Christmas
'Twas the night before Christmas and all through FOHA's grounds,
Cats & dogs were hoping that homes soon would be found.
The doggies were nestled all snug in their runs,
While the kittens were playing and having some fun.
They'd been to the Treasure Hound and did not want to leave,
Where there were great deals to be had even on Christmas Eve.
When out in the yard there arose such a clatter,
The Village dogs started barking to see what was the matter.
The moon in the sky gave off quite a glow,
And lit up a sleigh on the lawn down below.
The sleigh was driven by a jolly red-suited man,
When they saw him the wagging and purring began.
He had food bowls, and treats, and toys that would jingle,
All bearing tags that said "with love from Kris Kringle."
He walked 'cross the yard, going in every direction,
Making sure to give each cat and dog some affection.
He patted their heads and said with a happy laugh,
"You're obviously well-loved by the volunteers and staff!"
Santa assured them that he would not rest,
Until they all found homes that were simply the best.
He gave them a wink as he told them the gist,
"Adopting is the best way to get on the Nice List!"
He reached into his sack to give them some more,
As he had more blankets and treats, and goodies galore.
"You know," he exclaimed, "this place is so great!
My elves are some of the people who help and donate."
As he prepared to head out, he looked 'round again,
And smiled at all of his furry FOHA friends.
He packed up his sleigh as he knew that he ought,
But before he flew off he had one final thought.
He slipped into the office and left thrice the usual fee,
"A few cats and dogs are going home with me!
They'll love the North Pole - I'll pamper their paws,
While scoring some brownie points with Mrs. Claus."

Celebrating Second Chances
Buttercup, a dog you may remember from this summer, arrived at FOHA with a secret—she was pregnant! Rescued just in time from an overcrowded shelter, Buttercup was able to give birth in a safe, loving environment. Thanks to the support of our FOHA community, she and all her puppies are now thriving in their forever homes! ❤️

When Judd arrived at FOHA, he was heartworm positive and timid, carrying the kind of burden that can be the difference between life and death. But thanks to support from people like you, Judd received the life-saving heartworm treatment he needed—and it’s transformed his life. Today, he’s enjoying his days at doggy social, coming out of his shell, and waiting for his forever home!
Heartworm treatment costs an average of $1,000 per dog, and this year we’ve given 12 dogs that critical second chance. With your help this Giving Tuesday, we can reach our goal to help 12 more dogs thrive and find loving homes.
