An old “shirtwaist” trunk, three cheese boxes, topped with a vintage crock jug and a treenware bowl full of pears basking in the sunlight. This says “home” to me. ❤️

LET'S WORK TOWARD BEING SELF-SUFFICIENT

With the Increased Instability in the world, and now in our own Country, it is becoming more important for You to be able to grow at least part of what You and Your Family eat--much like our Grandparents and Great Grandparents did with their Victory Gardens. They grew their own Food, Saved their Heirloom Seeds, and were very Self-Sufficient. You would be able to Grow Enough to Feed Your Family with our 60 Variety Heirloom Seed package, 33,000 Seeds, Non GMO, and fresh from the Fall 2021 Harvest https://theseedguy.net/seed-packages/50-60-variety-heirloom-seed-package.html Thank you, Stay Safe, and God Bless You and Your Family. :)

When preparing your prepper pantry, try to work toward adding more shelf stable items instead of adding mostly frozen foods. If the power grid goes down you may risk losing your frozen foods if your power is off for an extended time. If you have a gas powered generator to keep your freezer running you may be ok, but keep in mind- you generator runs on gasoline which may be too expensive or hard to get. if you are one of the lucky ones with solar power, you are truly blessed.
If your power is off, you can put your foods in canning jars and process them before they go bad.
This year I chose to pressure can my vegetable soup instead of freezing it as I have always done.

What is a “Nanny State”? It ‘s when people depend on the state or government for everything they use or need. It’s time that we learn to be more self sufficient. It would be impossible to make a big move to become self sufficient all at once. But it is past time that we start going in that direction.

AEP power outages in Columbus and Cincinnati, Ohio

AEP said this on their website:

AEP said this was intentional and necessary to "prevent widespread damage" of the electric grid and is encouraging customers who still have power to reduce usage between noon and 7pm.

Slow Cooked Chicken and Gravy
Ingredients
6 chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
10 ¾ ounce can of reduced fat Cream of Chicken soup mix
2 packages of chicken gravy mix
2 cups of water
Salt and pepper to taste
1 ½ tsp garlic powder
1 ¼ tsp onion powder
Instructions
FIRST STEP:
In the slow cooker, combine the cream of chicken soup, the two packs of gravy mix and 2 cups of water
Whisk to blend well
SECOND STEP:
Sprinkle in the onion powder and the garlic powder, stir again
Place the chicken breasts on top of the soup mixture
THIRD STEP:
Cook on low for 8 hours, or on high for 4 hours.
Tastes best when served over mashed potatoes, rice or pasta.
FOURTH STEP:
If desired, place a choice of fresh or frozen vegetables in during the last hour of cooking.
If using fresh vegetables, continue to check on the doneness of the vegetable. You do not want to end with soggy vegetables.
Enjoy!
