Abigail's babies, Arthur, Boo and Minnie, 39 days old (almost six weeks old):
Can you imagine being Abigail??
And yes, of course Rocky is urinating blood again, of course he is. I will take him back to the vet on Thursday (only possible because assistant Jannie Bornstein has offered to cover me while I make the four hour journey)...
Hospice Martin and Kitten Koko taking a mid-day nap together yesterday.
Yuzu, being groomed in the gentlest way I know:
Yuzu, tonight. Still suffering from stomatitis and in need of daily medication for ulcers in his mouth and throat, but, I am quite certain, he is a a pretty happy cat. One thing I know for sure, he loves loves loves to be touched. And knows he is loved.
Orange Trombone
Meet Orange Trombone, rescued and spayed 20 Jan. She is in pristine health and, as you can see, perfectly ready for adoption. PM me for an Adoption Questionnaire if interested.
Today's Zutto Rescues (4!!!!) 💕
Introducing the four cats that I rescued early this morning. More details after I feed the outdoor colonies:

Dear sweet one-eyed Martin, once the absolute terror of the Kyoto River Park:
Dear All,
Since opening my new shelter, Shelter Zutto-ARiGato, in August, I have been really struggling to make ends meet. Taking care of a few hundred outdoor cats and taking care of the same individuals indoors is, I have discovered, a *totally* different operation. Medical issues, food allergies, water filters, litter boxes, property maintenance... (I am not even asking for help with utilities or taxes or insurance or gas)...
And then, there's the issue of the remaining outside cats. I am still feeding 6 of 14 colonies after sunset and before dawn seven days per week, no matter the weather. And trapping on my own is extraordinarily difficult (and dangerous), especially in winter. Truthfully, I have nothing in Reserve at the end of each month, even when trapping is unsuccessful.
What would be most helpful at this point is committing to a Monthly Donation, even if small. If you can help -- and I know, I know, the timing is terrible -- here is how:

Mina Martínez, I'm guessing you will enjoy this. I actually had no idea Akemi was making it:
Allie is staying put!
The "crazy" cat who was running around the streets screaming at top volume for the last couple weeks has settled in beautifully at the shelter. WHAT a relief.
Discarded kitty fills the examination room with her fear
Even Dr T was startled by her volume...
The Frantic One needs a name, Jim, please?
Off now to try and rescue this poor traumatized teenager who has obviously been discarded. Thank you Jim for volunteering to sponsor her. How I hope she quiets down once she feels secure because if she doesn't, I'll have no choice but to release her.
Help us?
I probably won't be able to keep this cat at the shelter. When she sees me, she doesn't meow, she doesn't wail, she screams, SCREAMS?! She's always in a different place but I always know just where by the screaming...
I have no idea what her story is -- she appeared out of the blue about a month ago -- but she's clearly very, very distressed. At the very least, I can have her spayed, so that is what I'm going to try to do. Thursday. I don't dare attempt this project prior to my Monday-Tuesday teaching marathon but am posting this in advance in the hope that someone will volunteer to be her sponsor and give her a name. Please, someone?
