HAPPY REPUBLIC DAY TO EVERYONE!!

We must thank God that we are in a position that we can celebrate festivals .

For our street furry friends,each day is a struggle.The day they get to eat is celebration for them.

To be able to raise money for them through different channels,Varsha and I got a film made giving a glimpse of what we do.We have spent our money to get it made.
This is a REPUBLIC DAY GIFT for all the group members from us.

Nowadays the number of cases being reported has increased.And once the case is reported in the group,we can’t NOT ATTEND it.But then we are needing more funds than before.

We request you to send it to your friends,colleagues,family and request for funds.

This dog suffered a jaw injury about 1 year back due to an accident. The injury later expanded and started growing bigger and bigger. The dog is not human-friendly and due to the injury kept isolating herself.
KAWA volunteers tried to arrest the expansion by giving oral meds as and when she was spotted.

Several attempts were made to catch her for about 1 year but she constantly kept evading us. No one knew her hiding spots. Each time she was spotted, she appeared skinnier than before.

We finally got lucky on the 10th of January when she was spotted during a sterilization drive and was finally caught and sent to the Make New Life shelter.

The jaw injury had expanded quite a bit and had a foul stench of maggots, however, not visible from outside indicating the maggots had dug deep.

The doctors at Make New Life removed a huge amount of maggots from the gums and upper jaw area. This was no easy task since the dog is aggressive and added aggression due to pain and injury.

Blood Haemogram, Smear, and LFT KFT revealed that she is positive for Babesia Gibsoni (a deadly parasite transmitted via tick bite).

And KFT showed high creatinine levels indicating kidney malfunction.

We are very thankful to the staff and doctors of Make New Life for admitting her and taking such good care of her while ensuring she gets the right treatment.
