Bread is not usually my thing but I kinda wish it was...so I am trying out some new recipes.

When it is chilly outside, the best way to heat up the house is to cook!

So on a cold day like today, I Canned Chicken Broth plus made homemade chicken noodle soup.

When we cook whole chickens, we save the carcasses in the freezer until I am ready to make Broth. We used those today along with veggie scraps I also saved in the freezer.

Look at this yummy broth!!

We cleaned up the greenhouse and noticed some wearing/tears on the top of the greenhouse, so we fixed it up today. It is bitterly cold out there, but we bundled up and worked quickly. The greenhouse is maintaining heat now.

We are working on improving all these silks in 2025.

One thing missing here is the protein...Hunting, Fishing, Trapping...we are working on those this year too!!

What shade loving plants are you doing this year??

We have 20+ foot long beds on the side of the house where we plant Spinach, Lettuce, Kale, Radishes, Chives, and a few other Herbs. It's been a great addition to our harvests plus it helps these plants not burn up in the HOT Oklahoma July and August weather.

This liquid gold simmered all day long on the stove and now there are 7 Quarts in the canner. Plus there is enough for another 7 Quarts after this batch.

Despite having a work from home day for me (thank you Oklahoma snow!!)...I was still up early this morning. So, I put on some veggie broth early to simmer all day on the stove.

Those Veggie Scraps that you normally put in the trash make the BEST veggie broth.

Tonight I will can this liquid gold which saves me a few bucks each time I use one plus it is so much healthier for us and not full of sodium like the store bought stuff.

Still working on organizing projects in the kitchen (...yes I got alittle behind 😉).

Today I finished up organizing and inventorying my remaining canned items. I found some yummy pineapple jam hiding in the back of the cabinet that I plan to hide from my husband!!

We also have lots of canned Beef Stew and Chicken Soup, so some easy meals are ready to go on the shelf.

Small update from the Delcour House. I am working on doing a project a day to clean, organize and/or purge at our house. The kitchen is my focus at moment and I am gonna show off my hard work. First three projects are complete.

Tomorrow's project=organize and inventory all my canned food (and start planning on what to put in all those empty jars 😉)

Ray and I are working on 2025 Goals as we drive home from Wisconsin. We will post all of them soon, but one goal is House Organizing and Purging things we don't use (yes! We have things in the house that we have not used in all of 2024).

With work and kid activities...and just life....it is hard to get everything done. So, I am trying out a schedule for one clean up task per day (plus a few catch up days because I know me)...we will see how successful I can be this month.

I think this is a beautiful idea for the garden. It is not only repurposing an old item but it also creating a functional and beautiful planting space.

I think these would be a fun project to start in 2025. We have the feed bags, so seems smart to give them a second life in a useful way.

My reading material in the car on the way to Wisconsin to see my family!!

I also have my notebook to make plans. I cannot wait to start in the greenhouse after we return from our trip.
