I don’t know what he enjoyed more, the rides or the walks. I am really missing him. We only knew him a short time, but he took over our hearts completely. ❤️💔

Very sad to announce to the group that big beautiful Buckeye passed away today. Even though we only had him for his last year he quickly became my big boy. So sad that he is gone but at least we had him for almost a year.

Buckeye out for a ride today before the oppressive heat and storms hit. He is doing decent today. He was under the weather Monday and Tuesday but rebounded Wednesday. We have built a long ramp for him to get in and out of the house but he felt so well today that he opted to do the steps and did them well. He’s such a good boy!!!

Buckeye is feeling OK today so he went out to his favorite park in Schuylkill Haven and took a small walk with his sisters.

Just as an update to all. Buckeye had two bad days on Friday and today. His back end is giving out on him and he is having difficulty with basic walking. His bladder function is also failing. Please send prayers his way.

I know I’m looking a little scruffy. My mom doesn’t want to torture me too much with grooming, so she does it in small doses until I get frustrated and pull away. But, I still love my rides and walks everyday and no one can get any rest until I have at least one of each everyday. They wear me out and I’ll nap all the way home, but the park is my favorite walking spot. Especially right now, the ducks and swans are having their babies and they are so cute and fuzzy. I’m feeling good and I’m still strong enough to knock mom and dad off balance when I hug them. I have bladder leaks now, usually when I am sleeping, but mom and dad don’t even get mad at me. They just clean me up and give me a hug and kiss. My sisters are so good to me. They come with me when I have to go out and keep me company and sleep next to me at night, so I know I’m not alone. (Plus mom or dad are on the sofa next to me). I know and feel I am loved and I am happy. I give them big hugs all the time to say thank you. I think they know what I’m saying and I know they will take the best care of me. I’m sorry this got so long, but I haven’t said hello to my friends in quite a while and want you all to know I am still doing well and thank and love every one of you. Have a great day! Edit: Buckeye has been eating better the last few weeks. I don’t think he’s gaining weight, but he has a good appetite and that’s enough for us. His spirits are good and he doesn’t let any of his old age problems stop him from getting out and about. So, despite his vet report from last month, he’s pushing forward and just doing his thing.

Buckeye is enjoying the warm, sunny weather today.
I’m so sad to say, however, he had a vaccination/check up this week. The vet said he’s losing weight and his cataracts are getting quite substantial. We have been giving him a special, wet food to help him eat better for months, but he just doesn’t have much of an appetite. And we have noticed him losing more of his vision and hearing. He still absolutely loves car rides and walks, but they are getting harder on him, so we have to limit how much activity he gets. We are just taking things day by day, but we do feel the time may be coming sooner than we would like, to make the most heart wrenching decision. Until then, though, he will continue to get rides, walks, treats, hugs and kisses, and all the love he deserves. We truly love him and will make sure he knows it everyday.
I just wanted to keep his adoring friends updated, and ask that you say some prayers for our sweetest boy. Thank you everyone for loving our boy as much as we do. 💕

Hi everyone! It’s been a fun and tiring holiday weekend here. First we went to the park for our walk on Easter Sunday and the whole family went together. This was so nice to have dad along, he rarely gets to come with us. And then on Monday, mom took us to a trail I have never been on before. All the new smells and sights. We saw turtles sunning themselves (mom couldn’t get a pic because we were pulling like mad, lol) and just had a blast. And then we took the long way home for a nice ride. Needless to say, a nap was in order for the rest of the afternoon; but I had the greatest dreams. Hope all of you had an enjoyable and blessed Easter. Take care all and thank you for your love. Buckeye has been under the weather the past few days but with the help of Brunswick Vetertinary Hospital, he’s up and feeling better today. Nice cool day for a walk on the Buckeye Trail

Enjoying the fantastic weather today at our favorite park. And then dozed off on the way home. He’s slowing down and showing signs of some dementia, and his eyesight is getting worse, but he still loves car rides and walks. And we will continue to take him whenever he wants to go. He still has a spark in him and we just love him to pieces. 💗💗💗

Finally!!! Our first walk at the park in months. Loving every step. We may be a bit out of shape, I tripped a few times towards the end, but it was so nice to stretch our legs. Looking forward to more nice days, and many more walks.💕💕
