Happy 12 of July! 🥳 As the 12 of July is here, we decided to share some tips on how to make your furry angels comfortable and safe during fireworks. 🐶
⏰ Before the fireworks:

❗️ Desensitize your dog to the sounds of fireworks: you can make your pup get used to the noises of the fireworks by playing the sounds of it softly. You can pair this action with giving treats to your puppy so that they associate the noises of fireworks with something positive. 🥰
❗️ Take your dog for a walk in daytime so you don’t have to take them out during the fireworks - just make sure that the pavement isn't too hot for his soft paw pads! 🐾
❗️ Make a safe place (doggie haven) for your fur baby inside the house! Create a quiet den for your Frenchie where they can relax undisturbed.
❗️ Train your dog to associate this place with something pleasant and they will learn it eventually that in this place, they are safe and unharmed.
❗️ Make sure that your Frenchie cannot escape from your home, if there’s a sudden, loud noise.
❗️ Make sure your Frenchie is microchipped in case they manage to get away somehow!

🎆During the fireworks:

❗️ Take your Frenchie to their doggie haven and place toys there to make them feel comfortable.
❗️ If you decide to go outside, always keep your fur baby on leash.
❗️ Close your windows and draw your curtains to buffle the noises of the fireworks. 🪟
❗️ Turn on the TV or the radio to block the sounds from outside.
❗️ You can try playing with your puppy to distract their attention from the fireworks.
❗️ Provide enough water for your Frenchie. Anxious dogs usually pant a lot, and they need more water as a result.
❗️ If you puppy is anxious, you can put a Thundershirt (you can buy it in pet stores) on your puppy or make an anti-anxiety wrap out of an elastic bandage. 🐶
❗️ You can also try pheromone diffusers which disperse calming chemicals into the room but always consult with your vet before that.
