This was Beck last night… about a week of trust let me open the door to pet her. She didn’t know if she wants loves and pets, or food first!!
I’m hoping soon we can trust each other enough to let her out of the cage and in the room to roam.
As you can see in this video a little better, her CH is mild. I do know she climbs things but I’ll be so interested and excited to watch her roam a room and explore!!
Backstory on Beck is, she is about 2+ yrs old at least… she’s been in a big cage , like this one, for at least a year. Her muscles are atrophied and her fear clearly has shown her cautiousness…. Right now she hasn’t even shown signs to come out.
Baby steps will get her there though! I’m hoping to show her love can happen outside a cage 🐾🧡🐾

Beck didn’t eat for 6 days… nothing. I tried everything!! After an urgent visit to the vet, we got a stimulant, a vitamin, fluids and an antibiotic. She ate that night!! 5 days later she showed me her biscuits!!! 🐾🧡🧡 🐾Shortly after, she let me pet her!!!
For almost 2 weeks, she hid, she growled, she hissed and spit!!! She either hated me or was feral!!
This sweet baby was scared!! So scared!!!
This was last week. In between loves she hissed, she hid and she spit. But it got better every single day!!!

On the top is Moofasa. He is the resident oldest man in the house. So gentle and welcoming.
Inside is Beck. She is so scared, very guarded and my next CH challenge/love 🧡
She hisses and growls at me but welcomes him to visit, even in the crate 🤷🏼‍♀️

We are about 28 hours in. She’s still in hiding (but moved to under the dresser) she has used the litter box but hasn’t eaten yet 😢
I now have a camera set up for watching….

Sweet boy Mellow got adopted!! I will miss this baby, but I’m so happy he’s gonna get all the love he deserves 🧡🤍🧡

Mellow getting some zoomies out! He’s been getting on all 4’s more often recently, he does flop right over, but it’s still progress!! He also has figured out how to prop against a wall to rest/sit instead of just resting on his side!! It’s the little things 🧡🤍🧡

So yesterday Miles got adopted. Heart strings were pulled and I definitely cried happy/sad tears. I know he is in loving arms and a safe home….

After the adoption I proceeded to do a “kitten save” from a city environment from a person who just wanted $$. She clearly bypassed rescue attempts, so I reached out as a non-rescue person….
Long story short… I picked up this black kitten with the help of another rescue to take him in.

Miles got adopted, a black kitty was saved…

Miles finder sent me $50 a couple weeks ago and that $$ saved this black kitty from an unsafe environment …. Miles paid it foward and now he is safe. Full circle over here!!

THEN… I was walking through a thrift store and saw this sign on a shelf….
His name… Miles… written on this piece of wood… I felt it was a sign I did all the right things 🐾🫶🏼🧡🤍🤎🐈‍⬛

Miles and his breakfast… well food in general!! These particular moments I will miss!! He puts a “show” on every morning for me and we walk to the top of the stairs where he knows I scoop him up and we go downstairs for breakfast. He always comes “FLYING” out from under the bed because he knows I’m doing my breakfast call!!
Miles goes to his fur ever home today 🧡🤎🤍 and I couldn’t be happier crying at all 😭
I live for these days BUT it sometimes is still heart crushing in a sense!!!
This boy def got our hearts and will forever!! I’m super excited he will be close by and we will even get to visit and furbabysit for him in June!!

Mellow is ready for adoption. He’s a sweet, sweet moderate /severe CH baby. He uses the his box to go potty. We are still perfecting it daily. I hold him to eat and he’s getting stronger and more confident! Please ask me any questions, he’s my foster through a rescue and you would need to fill out the application on our website. I know this is long but I couldn’t stop!! 😭 BIG BIG moment for Miles!!
He has not, and I’ve tried lotsa things, drank water on his own yet! He is now 4 months old y’all and doing BIG BOY THINGS!!!!
Here’s the BIG BOY drinking water…. All on his own!!! Well I helped hold him but he did it!!!!😻😻😻
These are the moments I absolutely live for… these few minutes made every single early morning and extra loads of laundry completely worth every moment

This is where my brain goes when I think of helping a non-walker CH baby…
This turned out to be just a tad too small for Mellow 😹🤷🏼‍♀️
But it would def work…

Turn up your volume… this is a pretty mild growling session TBH… they have shown signs of possibly (maybe?) warming up to each other but it’s been a week and they still growl!
P.s. they do not growl at my resident cats! Only each other 🤦🏼‍♀️😹

We have had Mellow for a week now and starting to get to know him and him us. He truly is “Mellow” when compared to our beastly Miles 😹
He is a sweetheart and slowly coming out of his shell. He purrs up a storm and just wants to be held and loved more than get down and play I think… BUT that’s gonna change soon!! Now that he is warming up a tad we are trying to construct a scooter/wheelchair for Mellow. My hope is to build his confidence beyond “food on a rug scotching!!”

Miles got a feeding station! Don’t mind me talking, this was the first time using it and I think he got a bit rambunctious 😹
Miles is always a fierce little eater 🤦🏼‍♀️ but he took it next level here!!
I’m not sure we will use it for wet food but maybe I’ll try dry food and water…. Still trying to tackle him drinking water

This is our new wish list! Miles and Mellow eat a lot of wet food so they don’t become dehydrated! It’s hard for them to drink water alone (we are working on it)
They eat the dry with the wet, and water mixed in 🧡🤎🤍🧡🤍

🌎 friends… welcome Mellow!

We are going to welcome Mellow a little slowly. Miles is a bit unsure and a little hissy/growly 😹

Miles will adjust and so will Mellow.

Mellow came from a single kitten momma who had an oopsy pregnancy. Mellow’s momma is getting fixed though 😸yay!!!

Mellow has CH as well, and over the next few days, after some time, we will be able to get a better idea of what he needs and what he can do!!

Let’s also hope that they make great friends 🤞 🤞🤞

Miles has just a few days of play roaming now… and he’s already up to about 5-7 steps!! The more he plays and gets open space the better he gets! Now he comes when I call him and climbs up me! 🧡🤎😻

Miles has some more very fabulous news!!! He was tested today for FIV/Felv. I’ve been waiting for this test for various reasons, but most of all it’s another step towards a furever home. Miles was NEGATIVE 🎉🎉🎉
Miles can now be safe around other cats!! Which means if the opportunity presents itself, he can have a friend (which I’m totally all for!)
Miles is getting stir crazy to say the least!! Yesterday we went for a walk in the fresh air and today we went to an adoption event where he had an absolute blast in a giant playpen!!! He is now very much conked out!!!

Miles will be getting a new eating station soon!! 😀 🎉

In the meantime I found this. Miles still doesn’t drink water alone from a bowl or water bottle. I have to coax him with dry food in the water and a small amount at a time.… which is totally fine and he does great on his own!

This feeding mat will hopefully give him even more independence. It’s for a puppy or small dog for slow feeding, however I switched it around for Miles… I put water in the blue part and food in the bowl. My hope is that Miles will sip the water or scoop it with his hand… but he CANNOT submerge his hole face or nose, and even better demonstrated in the video... he can’t go swimming either! ( he won’t get all wet and submerge part of his body while in a flip flop!) 🧡🧡🧡
