Well that was a very emotional weekend! 🥹

With the Love Litter turning 8 weeks old it was time for them to move to their new families 🏡 So many happy tears shed by everyone and we feel blessed to have such wonderful families, old and new, in Team Waldershelf 💕

We’ve already had lots of pupdates and they are settling into their new homes so well, they all have outstanding temperaments so thoroughly enjoying being centre of attention as they start to explore the big wide world.

Be prepared for lots of puppy spam!

What a fantastic update from Ryder and his family 🐾 demonstrating brains and beauty 😍

On Saturday Ryder went to his first open show and places 1st AV import puppy and Best of Breed. He was then short listed to the last 8 in the working group ( out of 16 dogs) 🎉

And on Tuesday Ryder passed his Bronze Good Citizens award 🎓👏🏻

We’re super proud of him and really look forward to seeing him in a few weeks 🩵

Introducing our new additions… 🐾 very excited to have some summer puppies, 6 males and 4 females all strong and doing great. Lottie loves her babies whilst Matt is definitely a more hands off dad 🤣

Ryder & his family, visited the All About Dogs event at the weekend and won the most handsome dog class (with over 40 other entrants!). Of course we had no doubt at all, because he’s one handsome chap! 🩵

CRUFTS 2024 - Part 5

Nora’s favourite bit about crufts is the shops… and she particularly made herself very comfortable this year at Butternut Box, staking out the large display dog bowl, trying to eat the display and working the crowd until someone finally gave her a sample 🙈 she’s such a independent, demanding, clever girl but we wouldn’t have her any other way ☺️💜

CRUFTS 2024 - Part 3

We had 5 of our Entlebuchers representing the breed at the Discover Dogs this year 🐾
Betty, a seasoned professional was her usual calm, confident self but she was also joined by her 4 children Ada, Adele, Ryder and Bonnie and it was their first time at anything like this and they were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! 🥰

We were so unbelievably proud of their temperaments, they were totally unfazed by the crowds, noise, other dogs and LOVED saying hello to every single person that visited the stand to meet this wonderful breed.

The pride you feel as breeder in moments like this make all the hours of choosing lines with outstanding temperaments, developing their characters from the very start and socialising, socialising and more socialising pay off. Nothing could have exactly prepared them for this environment but their positive, well rounded, solid temperaments carried them through ❤️

Forbes ‘Waldershelf Fame’n Fortune’ won 4th in a strong class of 24 open dogs, owned by Abbie

Cubby ‘Waldershelf Cubby Ad Astra’ took 1st place in Good Citizens Dog Class owned by the Hughes’

Freyja ‘Waldershelf Leading Lady’ placed 3rd in Post Graduate. Owned by Dannii & Chris

CRUFTS 2024 - Part 1

A post I’ll have to do in 5 parts as we were so proud of our small team who represented Waldershelf across all 4 days of the show.

But first up is all about the sassy Queen of Waldershelf - NORA 💜

Champion Waldershelf Can’t Ignora JW

Not only won a large competitive open class under breed specialist judge Joanne Sutton but then went on to take best female and best opposite s*x 🤩

Just an amazing day, so many tears shed and certainly made it a Crufts to remember.

Sharing her critique here and some photos of our beautiful girl 😍

“As her name implies, she could not be ignored! Medium size with lovely strength to this female and now fully mature at 4 years. Lovely breed type and balance, has a classic head with the desired flat skull, lovely breadth to muzzle and stop, kind well-shaped dark eyes and uses her ears to advantage. Strong neck of correct length, front assembly good but would prefer slightly more angle to the upper arm, deep chest, well b***d legs and stands correct in front. Her topline is firm, correct ribbing and just slightly longer through the loin, beautiful rounded rump with correct tail set. Well let down behind, well-muscled and has correct rear pasterns. She comes into her own on the move with great reach and drive coming towards and going away, super profile movement. In full coat and with faultless presentation, at one with her handler and a real showgirl. Pleased to award her the Bitch CC and Best Opposite Sex” - Joanne Sutton

🙌🏻What a fantastic day at WELKS for our little Team Waldershelf! 🙌🏻

CUBBY - ‘Waldershelf Cubby Ad Astra’ wins Limit Dog and the DOG CC!!! Huge congratulations to the Hughes’

His daughter GINNY - ‘Waldershelf Gin and Tonic’ placed 2nd in Open Bitch and then awarded the RCC

FORBES - ‘Waldershelf Fame’n Fortune’ placed 2nd in Open Dog.

KAOS - ‘CH Waldershelf Causing Kaos ShCM’ won his Veteran Dog class and then won Best Veteran in Breed at 10 years old 🥰

….and finally at her first ever dog show ADA - ‘Waldershelf Abracadra’ won Best of Breed & Best Puppy in Breed (unfortunately no photo as Phil had to race up to the ring with Ada whilst I was showing Ginny)

Also Kaos had a little birthday party to celebrate his 10th birthday with an incredibly impressive cake! 🍰

NORA ‘CH Waldershelf Can’t Ignora JW’ wins 🏆 BEST IN SHOW 🏆 under breed specialist judge Julie Baldwin at the Northern Bernese Mountain Dog Club Championship Show.
So so proud of our special girl 💜

It’s always lovely to show a veteran and it was a total pleasure to show our Fame ‘Bernerdalens Quest for Fame at Waldershelf (imp SWE)’ at 8 years old to win her veteran class and Reserve Best Veteran in Show. She never stopped wagging and thoroughly enjoy every minute of her day❤️🥺

Well 2024 seems to be flying by! Thought I’d post a recent photo of Betty & Ada but realise this was taken nearly month ago 🙈
We’ve had a busy few months and lots to update ☺️

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO SHARED THIS POST. THIS BOY HAS NOW FOUND A WONDERFUL FAMILY 🏡🥰

One of our families has had a change of circumstances and their gorgeous boy has come back to us and now looking for a new home 🏡 🇬🇧

He is 5 months old, fully house trained, crate trained and has amazing puppy foundation training. He will happily settle in a café/pub, he’s dog friendly, knows basic commands (and some tricks), loves toys, he’s happy around people/children and pulls up to say hello but would benefit with some more training on ‘saying hi’. He’s a calm, easy going puppy just looking for a forever family (who ideally likes cuddles on the sofa).
We would like him to go to a family ideally with some previous dog experience and ownership. He of course comes vaccinated, wormed, KC registered and with our lifetime support ❤️

George came back to stay for a little holiday whilst his owners were away. What a delightful puppy he is 💙 it’s so nice to see how much our babies develop in their new homes and how they become such a huge part of their new family in such a short time 🐾 we are very lucky to have such wonderful homes for our pupsters 🥰

It’s not very often we go anywhere without the dogs but we did manage a cheeky trip to The Royal Kennel Club in London for the Bernese Breed Lunch 🇬🇧🐾 not only was it a delicious lunch with like minded Bernese enthusiasts but it was lovely to look at the archives and gallery remembering the breeds history.

Slightly belated, but our beautiful, sweet, gentle Fame turned 8 years old this week. Showing no signs of slowing down and not a single grey hair in sight we have everything crossed for many more happy, healthy years with our gorgeous girl ❤️
