Flashback and fast forward with my puppies! 🐕🕰️ Swipe to seeHappy Camper and Talulah from their puppy days to now. Over 2023, these two flourished under our raise and train program and they've become regulars for boarding and tune-ups. They're the embodiment of how the right blend of genetics, early learning, fulfillment, and unwavering consistency blossoms into well-adjusted, happy furry family members. My heart is full of pride for Camper and Talulah, and immense gratitude towards their individual families who put their full trust in our approach. Their training journey began even before they set paw into their forever homes, and look at them now! 🌟✨

Meet Charlie, the two-year-old Mastiff mix who joined our pack in August 2023. Her dedicated family set the stage for success with a solid foundation, leading up to her transformative 6-week board and train program that started this past November. Despite a previous trainer's claim that she was 'too dense' to learn, we saw past that to a dog who simply needed the right motivation and support to overcome her anxiety. Together, we've turned daily walks from a challenge to a joy, stopped behavior medication, and Charlie gets to go and do more with her people that love her more than anything. Charlie's progress is a testament to herresilience, her family's commitment, and the power of a system that truly delivers. Here's to Charlie and her family—showing us all that perseverance, understanding, and a little bit of tail-wagging enthusiasm can lead to extraordinary results. 🐾💪

Meet Zuma! 🐶 Just 2 days after finding his forever family, he came to me for our 2-week puppy head start program to lay a rock-solid foundation for his new life. 🏡

However, just minutes after he was dropped off, it became clear that Zuma had been misclassified as an 11-week-old puppy when he's likely between 6-8 months old. 🙈 He had a full set of adult teeth and the cognitive and mobility skills of an adolescent dog, not a puppy.

We swiftly adjusted his program to address behavioral issues and continued building a strong foundation for him. Zuma is now in a loving and dedicated home, and we hope to see him back early in 2024 to complete his training and continue enjoying life with his wonderful family. 🐾❤️

Meet Gus! 🐶 Gus is a ~6-month-old livestock guardian/GSD mix who spent 5 weeks with us working on confidence building and socialization. 🏡

One week after Gus found his forever home, his new family reached out to me because he was snarling and growling at people. 😬 Gus's journey is living proof that early intervention is the key to total rehabilitation and success vs management.

Gus has always been the sweetest boy with his people, but now, he has the confidence and life skills to have appropriate interactions with family friends, which is especially important for a family with kids! 👨‍👩‍👦‍👦

is doing an incredible job at home, and I'm thrilled to see how this boy continues to grow and mature with a rock-solid foundation in his loving family. 🥰🐾

Introducing Toby, just one of the shining stars of our Dream Dog program! 🌟🐾 In just a few weeks, this mini golden doodle has transformed into an absolute dream. 💛 I first met Toby in 2021 when he was just 9m old! At the time, his mom wasn't quite ready to commit to our program and that's ok. We were here when she was ready to go to the next level! Toby struggled with leash reactivity, making every walk a challenge and hyperactivity. With our whole-life approach, we've conquered those frustrations together. 🙌 Now, Toby walks with confidence and joy, getting to explore all of San Francisco with his people. Well-balanced dogs get to do more! 🌈✨ GO . 🐕💪

And our final August/September board and train is…HOPPER!
Hopper is a super cute Aussie mix that was reactive to most things that move. How Aussie of him 😂. Bikes, skateboards, dogs, the occasional person. This made walks and any other activity really stressful for his people. He has been home for a week and is doing AMAZING. Super proud of Hopper and his people for putting in the work everyday. I’m so excited to continue hearing about all the adventures he gets to go on and enjoy now!

P***y Berry!!
P***y is a 6 year old lab that is kicking butt at home with her people. P***y was with us for 7 weeks to work on her state of mind. For most of her life P***y has been super anxious outside of the home. This made walks, meals, people coming over, traveling, etc. stressful for both dog and people. We started with a custom weight loss and diet program to get her physically feeling her best and then dove into addressing the anxiety through clear communication, expectations, and patience.
Keep crushing it at home P***y! See you soon.

Austin is a 4 year old mix breed who was with us for 7 weeks to learn a boat load of new skills. He is a super sensitive and soulful dude, I mean look at those eyes 👀.
His program goals were to boost confidence, work on dog reactivity, off-leash skills, and house manners. He went home for a week and is already back for boarding to maintain the skills he just recently learned.

I got a fun update from Morty’s mom the other day! Morty was with us almost a year ago and was a super challenging case. He was about 10 years old when he entered the program and overall was anxious and fearful. His mom has done such a good job building upon the foundation we established here 💜 Keep it up Morty

Taking a look back at all the puppies that are now dogs 💜
It has been an absolute blast working with these dogs and their families(and many more) through puppyhood, adolescence, and into adulthood.
I have loved watching all of these dogs grow with their people 😋.

Dog Mom Guilt Is No Joke.

You did your research. You did everything Google said to do, and you nailed it.

Except maybe the part about the ideal diet. The vet-recommended food that came in a can seemed like enough. But that ad on ig said….

Walks three times a day. Checked that box. Except for that time it was raining for three days straight. Maybe skipping one is okay. Or is that just the fast track to weight problems, anxiety, and rebellion?

Maybe this dog will need therapy. Maybe you’ll both need therapy. Oh crap.

Take a deep breath.

Being Perfect Isn’t Realistic.

Adjusting our expectations seems a lot like accepting what shouldn’t be acceptable as long as it’s good enough. But who set the bar in the first place?

Who decided that being a good dog mom meant transforming pasture-raised beef and organic veg into gourmet puppy chow twice a day?

That frolicking in wildflowers after a half-day hike is a totally reasonable alternative to a quick walk or three around the block?

Life is hard. Frozen burritos pass for dinner. And some people are allergic to pollen.

Social media is a so*******ch. Another way to put that is comparison is the thief of joy.

When we only have a glimpse into the most manufactured-for-public-consumption moments of another pet owner’s day… we suddenly feel less than. Not good enough.

But perfection doesn’t happen IRL. If you’re making progress and doing your best, then trust that you’re handling your life like a boss.

Next time your dog starts wiggling its little butt so hard you’re worried it will break something… all because you put on your shoes and grabbed the leash… switch up that internal dialogue.

Wondering how to be the best dog mom ever? Spoiler alert: at least one dog thinks that you already are. Own it.

Self-Care Matters for Dog Owners.

Does the idea of self-care seem kinda selfish? It’s not. Taking care of your own mental and physical wellness will ensure that you’re ready to show up for your dog.

They’re intuitive little buggers and they know when you’re not running on a full tank. If you’ve been putting yourself last for so long that you don’t know where to start, look to your pup for inspiration.

No, really.

Live in the moment. Nap like it’s your job. Prioritize play. Embrace curiosity. Teach yourself new tricks. Get dirty. Relish that piece of cake. Chase your tail. Just close the blinds first.

And reach out to the professionals when you need help with your pup.
