🐎 Increase Turnout and Enrichment: Horses crib out of boredom or stress, so increasing turnout time in pastures and providing mental stimulation, like toys 🧸 or hanging treat balls 🍏 in the stall, can reduce the urge to crib. Regular exercise 🏃‍♂️ and social interaction also help. 🔧 Modify Stall Surfaces and Diet: Installing anti-cribbing surfaces or covering edges with metal or crib-proof materials 🛠️ can make it difficult for horses to latch onto surfaces. Additionally, ensuring the horse's diet is rich in forage 🌾, like hay, can keep them engaged and reduce cribbing triggers related to gastric discomfort. 🍏 Apply Bitter Apple or Anti-Cribbing Sprays: Rubbing surfaces with bitter-tasting products like Bitter Apple 🍎 can deter horses from cribbing on those surfaces.
