How many people can say they absolutely love what they do?! I can'. Here I am in retirement...no longer working for a living. Life is idyllic, peaceful...taking care of my precious Aunt Bev (moms sister) and her life partner (or Doctor #3) as we sometimes refer to him. They are lovely and capable at ages 88 and 95. Not all that much to do but get a nice dinner. All else we have people do. But the one thing that brings me pure joy is raising a few Havanese puppies. These sweet and extremely intelligent babies go to the best of home, sharing their amazing hearts with their families...bringing so much joy and companionship. There are so many reasons Havanese make the very best pets...really, they become full fledged family members. I believe each one is meant for a specific family, brightening their lives, giving constant and unconditional love, truly accepting and loving every member of their new family. They are so smart they actually talk to you in their way. They may actually think they are talking!!! I've just never seen Such amazing little dogs as the Havanese. They are meant for the seasoned dog owner...someone who will love them their entire life. With virtually no genetic health issues (certainly not in our lines) they are, in my opinion, far and away the best small family dog. They usually love to travel, enjoy cuddling for as long as you want and are very playful, if that is how you are feeling. In other words, they love to matchyour moods and
Feelings. The males are the most pronounced in these ways, and quite a bit less bossy. And In our extensive experience, the males will not "mark" if they are neutered at a fairly young age. We know this as we have a very studly stud and also a neutered male who has Never ever marked.
I breed Havanese for the love of it and the joy of it. I love helping families find that precious, intelligent and totally unconditional love to enjoy. You can tell them your deepest secrets and they actually seem to understand. The closest breed to the Havanese, in my opinion, is the Golden Retrieved. Yes, they sure do look different, and they won't fit under the seat on the plane...but their natures are very very similar. I can't imagine life without my four little Havanese. They cheer up the entire household. We keep it to about two litters per year ans seldom have any available. Almost all are sold by word of mouth. And I like that especially as my clients are all serious and experienced dog people who would refer only families like themselves. I woke up in the night and just decided to write this. So here I am, in the dark, with the wrong glasses. I hope there aren't a ton of typos. Won't turn the light on as it might wake the puppies that are about 3 feet from me in their playpen. To all you nightowls,I hope you get some good rest. And to everyone out there, enjoy each day with your precious fur baby...and, of course, all your family and friends.
Enjoying life, Lenette
