Luna has faced some life challenges. Sadly, she was a victim of domestic violence. She’s seen and heard what she should not have. Her mom wanted her to have a chance. I want her to have a chance. She needs a home where she is the only pet. She’s a social baby, so being in a crate 24/7 or an outdoor pen would not be the best for her. She needs patience, love and boundaries. She is a good girl when she is the only doggie. Most of all, Luna does not want to hear anyone fighting. She is now allowing men to pet her. She needs a bit of warm up time but is willing to be your best friend. If you have a heart for a girl who’s had a hard time, please message us.

Jed is a Little Spoon. He is a sweet loving good boy. Jed weighs in at a trim 45 pounds. He is fully vetted, up to date on vaccines, neutered and heart worm negative. Jed had his foot smooshed, his toe broken, and had an injury to his side. Due to his injuries he had to stay on a clean floor and has not been able to go outside. He is puppy pad trained. Jed is dog neutral. His hobbies include carrying arms from his stuffies, chewing on bones, and giving hugs and kisses to his people. He loves to be cuddled, watch Netflix and watch my FaceTime calls. Jed is available for adoption now. His leash manners are amazing!

Fast enough to dodge a speeding bullet, almost. BayLee has stared death in the eye and beat it. The vet said half an inch either way and BayLee would not have made it. He is a little bit shy but when he warms up to you, he will be your best friend. Someone admitted to shooting BayLee but the police were unable to prosecute. BayLee may not have gotten the justice he deserved but we can give him the home he’s always wanted. He’s got some heeler tendencies and you should definitely ready up about the breed to be prepared. He is 100% physically recovered from his injuries. BayLee likes cuddles, treats, and super chewer toys. He usually does well with other dogs but needs a slow gentle introduction. BayLee is now cone free!

We have a very special baby coming up for adoption. Pirate Pete was found by Anniston Animal Control and taken in by the League for Animal Welfare. His eye had bulged out of the socket for quite a while and could not be saved. He was constantly trying to lick people’s eye. He was also heart worm positive He knew he needed help. He has been a trooper! Today his stitches were removed and Thursday his heart worm treatment will be finished. He will have to be in a crate except for short potty breaks for 30 days, vets orders and very important!

Pirate Pete does not know he weighs 9.8 pounds and he can be a bit confrontational with larger animals. He will need to be slowly integrated into his pet pack over time. He has decided he likes the Great Dane. He needs a home where he can be loved. He seems to love all the people, dogs his size, and has been cat neutral. He wants badly to sleep with his person.

Pirate Pete loves hard. He has been sweet, motivated, and willing to learn. He is approximately 18 months old. He is housebroken, crate trained, loves to play, energetic but not spastic. He has good manners and is going to be in great health thanks to the people who have worked hard to get him medical care. Pete is still $100 short of paying for his vet bill if anyone can help. Marley and Stella are ready for their forever homes. Marley is a small, 6 week, lab mix. She has had her first set of shots and is fully vetted. Through no fault of her own, Stella has returned, bigger, better behaved, and somehow more beautiful than ever before. She is now tipping the scales at 60 pounds! She has learned basically obedience, she can sit, stay, come, shake and she’s a happy girl! She is available for adoption. She is housebroken, crate trained, and never bothered her family’s McCaw or their cat! She was a success in a multi-dog household. There was an older fella in the home who wasn’t willing to have her there. Stella Rose is an inside baby who would love a fenced yard.

Gator is 7 months old. He is crate trained and walks on a leash like a champ. He is old enough to have fun and young enough to have a lot of fun. He has a kind heart. He is likely to take his toy to share with a friend. He is dog friendly. Gator is so much fun!

It is going to be really cold tonight. We have several crates but we are in desperate need of the plastic liners without them the babies can’t be comfortable . We had a very successful first adoption event in Roanoke!! Thank you to all who came out to meet our fur loves, our volunteers and those who adopted new furry family members❤️. Southern Home Comfort graciously allowed our event to take place in their parking lot, Jessica Nash and family were so kind to let us borrow a tent to keep our pups and volunteers cool on this beautiful warm winter day 🌞 and our amazing crew of volunteers that make this possible. A few were unable to be at the adoption event today and were missed!
