Everyone please write!

Right now in New Zealand, there are thousands of dogs that will spend their whole lives on chains, or confined to small areas. SPCA has countless cases reported to us, or highlighted as concerns by the public, where we wish we could take more action. What most people don’t realise is that we can’t, because the law won’t let us.

The physical and mental suffering these animals are experiencing is unacceptable and SPCA demands the Government to do something about it – and now.

Add your voice to the cause, and join us in demanding action at www.spca.nz/breakthechain

If you could please take a few minutes to email our Minister of Animal Welfare, Meka Whaitiri and ask her what she is doing in regards to improving the current situation for the welfare of our animals in New Zealand, it would be very much appreciated. Email: [email protected]

No edition of The Rescue Review this week due to just arriving in the UK. I will aim for a bumper edition this Sunday night :)

Welcome to The Rescue Review - please follow or check in weekly for an update on what has been happening around the country in our struggling animal rescue centers. This page has been created in the hopes it will raise awareness to the great need for Government support, changes to the law - mandatory desexing and owner licensing and an end to life chaining among others, more prosecutions and harsher penalties for animal abusers just to name a few. Please share far and wide. NZ is in a shameful state when it comes to animal welfare, now is the time for change.
