I am dedicated to the preservation of the Basset Hound in a quest to meet the standard. I am an active member of the Basset Hound Club of America. At present, I co-breed with Damarna Bassets and work closely in cooperation with other quality breeders.
Growing up my dream was to have a Basset Hound. One day, in 1998 after completing treatment for Breast Cancer, my dream came true when a young basset puppy named Bucksnort joined our family. Fast forward a few years and I find myself involved in the world of showing and breeding. I co-breed predominantly with Rabbit Run Bassets but work closely with other breeders to help reach the goal of producing purebred Basset Hounds that closely reflect the breed standard.
Our litters are well thought out and planned. The parents should have titles confirming that they adhere to the breed standard. Potential pairings are evaluated to find the match that will produce a litter that maintains and hopefully improves the quality of the breed
Our puppies are whelped and raised in clean, warm surroundings and provided with the best physical care and the socialization they need; this includes from mom and the litter mates. Emotional and mental stimulation is needed so they fulfill their genetic potential. For this reason our puppies do not go to their new homes until at least 12 weeks of age. Pickup is definitely an option. We accept pickup for those who would love to come get their basset hound puppies by themselves. We highly encourage it since it is a very nice way to get to know the new owners of our pups more. A reservation deposit is required and pickup of all puppies are accepted on weekends only.
DELIVERY OF PUPS
If in case you are unable to come for pickup, we can deliver to your location. Doesn’t matter if you are in a different state since we ship to all states in the US and Canada. The shipping fee varies, depending on where you are located but it is estimated to cost around $150 to $500.

Breed History
History of the Breed
Most of the hunting hounds of Europe descended from the stock commonly known as the Saint Hubert of France during 700 AD. By the 15th century, the development of hunting hounds in France had taken on real distinctions and were divided into breeds. Some of those breeds were known as Griffon Vendeen, Artois, Normand, Bleaude Gascogne, and Fauve de Bretance. From these large hounds came hounds of the same basic makeup but that were low-set, heavier in limb than their larger counterparts and yet still serve a purpose in the hunting field. That purpose was the slow trailing of deer and other large game.
Later the lower set hounds were put to work hunting the smaller game that was available; i.e. hare, game birds, etc. The low-set hounds breeds became known by the names given to their larger relatives mentioned earlier.
Therefore, by the 16th century the basset (meaning to set) breeds became known as Basset Griffon Vendeen, Basset Artois, Basset Normand, Basset Bleau de Gascogne, and Basset Fauve de Bretange. In France, two strains became very popular. These were the Couteulx and the Lane basset strains. Along the line several different combinations were added to the gene pool also. Beagle and Bloodhound were among the new blood.
Through all of this, our beloved breed was actually developed and flourished into the breed known around the world as the Basset Hound. Not at all the little French hound that so many assume to be, instead a large, though low, hunter that could do a great job in the field or in the ring.
In fact, in North America, the Basset Hound has gone from field and pack hunter to show hound, obedience, tracking, movie, and tv personality to a couch potato. And it retains the ability to perform all functions with superior quality.

The puppy's first year
Before the delivery, the puppies are used to various things at the breeder, such as handling, sounds, people, platforms and other dogs. However, it is quite a change for the puppy to leave the familiar environment and leave the mother for a new home. Let the puppy get to know its new environment and family in peace.
Later on, it is good to offer the puppy new pleasant experiences within the limits allowed by its endurance and development. However, it must be remembered that, in the first year of life, the puppy is prone to accidents that may damage its bones. Leash runs with a small puppy should not be done at all. You must also be careful of stairs and drops. Basset hound grows up to about one year. During this period, its bones are sensitive and the front limbs can be badly damaged by even a small fall. It is good to arrange a safe space or enclosure for the puppy at home. As an adult, the basset hound can roll up and run, jump and bounce as much as it wants.
With a basset hound puppy, teaching indoor cleanliness must be consistent. Let the puppy out as much as possible and Praise and reward abundantly if the puppy pees or poops in the right place. Be patient and don't punish the puppy if it pees in the wrong place. Continue to accustom the puppy to nail trimming as well. Be firm but gentle. You can use treats to help the puppy learn to combine nail clippers and treats.
Attention should be paid to feeding. High-quality food supports the puppy's proper development. In our house, adult dogs eat raw food. And puppies up to about one year old dry food with a lot of meat. If you wish, you can also add a little tuna, cottage cheese, etc. to the dry food.
Puppies are curious and some puppies will explore and chew absolutely everything, especially when the milk teeth change at around 4 months of age. Make sure the puppy doesn't get anything inappropriate in its mouth, which in the worst case will block the intestines.

Our beautiful family pet Delilah has had her first and last litter, she had 4 girls and 4 boys and they are extremely strong and healthy and will be true to type. Their gorgeous tri colour coats are already shiny and thick their legs short chunky and wrinkly and floppy ears clean their mother is doing an amazing job. Mums parents were AKC however she is not as she was an accidental litter and could not be registered, she was fully health checked by the vets, Delilah is a beautiful dog she has a temperament to die for she is so calm and loving to us all. She does not struggle with her weight she is a very active dog. Dad is fully health checked and AKC registered and he was stunning with all his wrinkles in the right places and was a perfect example of a Bassett hound. These puppies are well loved and will be well socialised brought up in our family home where mum lives they are raised around 4 children aged from 13 to 2 years and also other dogs and cats they will be used to all household noise and visitors. Puppies will leave fully vet checked, microchipped flea and wormed and with their first vaccination they will have a puppy pack and a blanket with mum and litter mates scent on
