In the first photo you can see our Donald on the far right and then his 5 girls ❤️ I really like runner ducks and I'm looking forward to blue and white offspring next year. ☺️

💚 Yesterday still bright sunshine and today snow almost down to the valley ❄️ it can happen that quickly. ☺️ This great rooster will be moving to a new breeder next week and will be allowed to lead a group of Ischler dwarf hens there. It has been tested for pure genetics and can therefore pass on the green layer 100%. 💪

The children were also allowed to stand in front of the lens in the autumn leaves. ♥️ They have all grown into really handsome roosters now and it won't be long until they can go to their hens. 🥰 I will put together my breeding lines in December. I hope that the Dominicans also become more famous. 🤩

My Rocky's ♥️ Today I unpacked my good camera again and photographed, among other things, my Amrocks roosters 🤩 these are my last 5 roosters, one more beautiful than the other and each one has its advantages. 3 are coming to the Austrian Amrocks special show in mid-November.

I kept these 2 beautiful hens in the color brown - black double lined 🤎 As I have mentioned many times, I will no longer breed the Barnevelders as I already have enough large breeds. That's why after the exhibition the rooster and 2 hens moved to a new home. But these two hens just have to stay here because they are not only beautiful, they also lay great, big brown eggs. 🥰 The character of the quiet Barnevelders is also pleasant and they will have a great time in my colorful group.

Still have …. FOR SALE….price drop 1,200$ Finally finished this coop it’s 7 and a half feet long by 51 wide by 82 inches tall . That can easily hold 15 chickens . It’s been painted n sanded to give it that rustic look and went with a different floor for a smoother surface. Pick up only plz .

The boys are also back in their little men's shared apartment 😊 it will still take a while until I put the breeding lines together and they get to the hens. First you have to carefully select which animals go into a breeding group. 😊 It was amazing how peaceful the reunion was after the show this year for all breeds - the roosters usually don't get along anymore after they've been separated for a few days. What pleased me most this year was the evaluation of the Dominicans. At the moment I am the only breeder in Austria. I hope that changes soon. 😊

A few more photos of my beautiful roosters. 🥰 I haven't decided yet which 2 roosters are allowed to go to the exhibition, so I'll decide in the next few days. All 5 that I have now have potential and each have extremely good qualities. 🤩 Choosing which roosters you use for breeding does not necessarily have to be the rooster with the best rating, no, it depends on the characteristics that the rooster has and the hens may not. Here you have to choose wisely and not just look at the rating card! I have often had roosters that were not at any exhibition but were the best choice for me.

𝘽𝙖𝙧𝙣𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙡𝙙𝙚𝙧 🤎 my Barnevelder rooster can also present himself with 3 of his hens at our exhibition next weekend. 🥰 A few more weeks would be good for his tail plumage so that it would be fully developed, but I think he looks quite stately and will certainly be admired a lot because the brown-black double-lined color is really beautiful to look at.

𝘾𝙤𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙣 𝙗𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙢 🤍 This young dwarf Cochin rooster will be the new boss of the pearl gray barred hens. 🥰 I only hatched a few of this color this year because I concentrated more on the sparrowed ones. But even among the few chicks I had here, there are really nice ones that I will also show at our exhibition next week. ☺️

So if you are looking for a breed with excellent laying performance, you have come to the right place with the Leghorn.
The Leghorn Exchequers are also very trusting and are an eye-catcher in every chicken group with their great markings. 🥰 My hen is relatively light, normally they are a lot darker in the first year.
I don't breed them myself, but I would like to keep more different breeds of hens in my colorful breed group in the future and then describe them.

Mommy ❤️ the dwarf Cochin mother hen is still doing her best to warm as many of her chicks as possible 🤣 although this is no longer necessary because they are now well feathered but of course they still enjoy it very much. She is really a very patient mother hen with her 15 Little Piperl chicks. ❤️

Dominican 🖤 in exactly 3 weeks I can show this rooster and of course other Dominicans at our exhibition. 🥰 I really like this extremely rare breed and I hope I can inspire others too.

𝙕𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙜 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙨 ♥️ The Marans or dwarf Marans came in second place in the survey about the most popular chicken breed by Robert .huhn, narrowly beaten behind the Swedish flower chickens and I was able to take part in the new video again. 🤩 You can see the 20 most popular chicken breeds in the vote on YouTube in the new episode so don't miss it. 👏 I share the link to it in the story. ☺️
I was also able to talk to Birgit from on a podcast about this great breed, which will go online on Friday. 🥳

Rocky's ♥️ The Amrocks roosters are always a very special experience for my visitors... everyone is amazed at how big they are and at the same time how quiet it is here in the men's shared apartment. 😊 This year they are already very developed. The older ones are from the end of January, the others from the end of February.

My family and I live peacefully next to each other in my Hahnen shared apartment. Here you can see the size difference very clearly. The Dominicans have now reached their size and have become really stately, elegant roosters. 💪

They are very curious and trusting...a little more reserved than the Amrocks but that can't hurt. 🤣 The wattles are already really well developed and there will definitely be the first egg soon.

🖤 At the request of many, here is finally the contribution to the dwarf sparrowhawks. 🤩
I added this very rare dwarf breed this year. Robert .huhn took the hatching eggs for me, they come from Germany from a great breeder... I would like to thank you very much for that. 😊 I then bought 2 young hens in Austria. The animals have developed extremely nicely and will soon start laying. As the name suggests, German Dwarf Sparrowhawks come from Germany. According to the standard, the rooster weighs up to 1.1kg and the hens weigh up to 900g. They lay around 120 eggs a year that weigh up to 40 grams. have. Some breeders even speak of a much better laying performance. 😊 They are also extremely good foragers and quite alert. But they can also become very tame if you put in a little effort. ♥️ From 2024 I will have dwarf sparrowhawk hatching eggs. 😊🥳

This beautiful rooster 🐓 is my favorite of my 6 roosters 🥰 you can already imagine how beautiful the tail plumage looks when it is fully developed. I am really excited about this breed. I really like their elegant shape and this calm manner. Some of the roosters only start crowing when they are 8 months old.

Great 𝘼𝙢𝙧𝙤𝙘𝙠𝙨 young hen 🥰 this hen has beautiful stripes, the "bell shape" is shown to advantage and the leg color is also very good. Amrocks hens are allowed to have a dark tinge on the front of the legs...this is even important so that the identification color is not lost. ☺️

And of course the hens shouldn't be missing either. 🥰 I've been able to observe them for a few months now and, like my Amrocks, they are very curious but a little more reserved. Also a rather easy-going, lazy breed that becomes very trusting. In September I expect the first eggs as they are already quite developed. The description can be seen in the last photo. The special club of the Dominicans is trying very hard and here I would like to thank again, who even now helped me to choose the breeding animals. 🤩

𝐃𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐤𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐫 🖤🤍🖤 The Dominican roosters have now also reached the final of the development. The beautiful long tail feathers can already be seen and are of course much more lush. 🥰 Everyone has really developed very well and I have a hard time choosing the roosters that I will use for breeding. But better this way than otherwise. On the last photo you can see the description of the Dominicans. A really great breed with very good laying performance. 💪

The New Year's Chicks are here. 💓 🐤 4 of the chicks hatched yesterday and this afternoon I took the chicks that had already hatched out of the incubator because they were already very lively. 😂 Put the remaining eggs back in the incubator, sprayed with water and of course filled up the water in the incubator. This must always be done very quickly in order not to destroy the brood climate. The following have hatched: Exchequer Leghorn (in my hand), dwarf Marans, a few Amrocks, dwarf silk chickens, dwarf Marans, Ischler dwarfs, Steinpiperl, very dark olive layers and a few interesting mixes, for example. A dwarf Cochin/dwarf Marans mix is included 😂 one of the sparrowed dwarf Cochin roosters grabbed a dwarf Marans hen (he was still there at the time) 🥰

𝗧𝘂𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘆𝘀 & 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗻𝘀 ♥️ These photos were taken in autumn 2021 where I kept some of my chickens with the turkeys together. At that time I had quite a problem with the hawk and the turkeys ensured peace here 🥰 he hasn't been there since then and I hope it stays that way. I no longer have any turkeys, but I still love these animals and sooner or later I will definitely get some or hatch them again. ☺️

𝑰𝒔𝒄𝒉𝒍𝒆𝒓-𝒁𝒘𝒆𝒓𝒈𝒆 💚 My Ischler dwarfs (dwarf green layers) were very busy again today 🤩 I'm really excited about how good the laying performance of my dwarfs is. The longer the laying period lasts, the lighter the eggs become. This is quite normal and is also the case with the Marans. With an average egg weight of 45gr. they lay eggs just as large as the dwarf marans and need less than half the food than the larger breeds such as the. the Amrocks.
That's also a reason why I've become a big fan of these dwarves. 🥰

𝗦𝗶𝗹𝗸𝗶𝗲𝘀 🤍 Today again something from my dwarf silk hens in white with a beard ♥️ the breeding of the dwarf silk hens is almost complete only a few eggs are still under a hen. 🥰 The offspring has developed well and is in the best of health. 👏

𝐃𝐮𝐜𝐤𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 💗 I laid 24 duck eggs 28 days ago, 24 were fertilized and 23 hatched. 🥰 That's what I call a great result. This gang may soon free my garden from the many snails that have settled here. ☺️
