I hate writing these posts...

Especially since the cat that this post will be about was the most special pet I've ever met.

Tobi is gone. He has overcome so much; despite cancer, FIV, spinal degeneration and heart defects, he was always smiling, swashbuckling, and reminding everyone around what life is all about. It's about appreciating the moment while it's good. The point is to enjoy while the bowl is full. It's about cuddling up to a man while he's around. The point is, no matter what the past was, this life can be good. The FIV virus that Tobiś was carrying became active. The boss was already old, but we believed that we still had time.

Over the course of a few days, he wasted away, lost his appetite, and lost weight. The blood results were almost perfect - kidneys, liver, thyroid, everything like a bell. Only anemia. So anemic that even a transfusion may not be enough. We were looking for drugs that would get him out of it, unfortunately none of them were suitable for his heart defect. It's just that this heart wouldn't last more than 2-3 days. His wonderful family Agata Małgorzata traveled all over Manchester and all hospitals in search of a doctor who would undertake palliative care.

Everywhere the same heartbreaking responses were heard: it's too late. We can't help. You have to let him go.

Tobiniu, we all love you so much ❤️ run happily over the rainbow bridge. Your adopted cat daughter Oreo, whom you raised, is already waiting for you there ❤️

Hello.😊 This is the story of our newest kitten, Charlie🐈 ⬛❤️

Some time ago we planned to catch a cat that lives in one of the warehouse complexes in the north of Manchester. The cat of unknown s*x has been fed by employees of several companies in the area for a long time.
However, in the meantime, a kitten appeared there. He was not as brave with people as his older companion, he kept to the side, in the bushes, but watched and learned where food was available. He became a priority for us, we had to grab him as soon as possible.‼️
A few days of trying and we did it. 💪 Of course, flea-ridden, incredibly hungry, with a scratched nose and terrified of human contact, he went to our dt in Heywood. He even had a huge tick. He didn't meow, he just hissed at everything. We fleaed it, dewormed it and slowly tamed it with humans. He finally understood that the human hand feeds and scratches pleasantly behind the ear 😊 and doesn't want to hurt at all.
He is currently preparing for adoption (next and last visit to the vet on November 17, 2022). He loves to be stroked and scratched behind the ear. Sometimes he purrs at the mere sight of an approaching hand. He even started to giggle sweetly at times. He likes to eat well and clings to other cats. He is curious but still very cautious in contact with the new. He's about 5 months old. For adoption into a home with another cat.

Recently we got new residents of the PurrLove family - Molly & Polly 🥰🐈🥰

There are two beautiful tabby cats, who are so well behaved that it was a surprise even for us!
They love to chill on the bed, they are totally ok with other cats, up to the level that could teach your cat good manners and how to behave when guests come. They can also go to a house with children 🥰

It's been a bit quiet here for last few weeks, but it doesn’t mean that it wasn't busy for us. We have couple news and we want to start from the great one!

Foster Fail!!! 🥳🥳🥳🥳😍😍😍

Thor - is a beautiful cat who came to us obese, he had so much of extra wright that he couldn’t even clean himself ☹️ However, in the last few months he got so much love from his new mom (who managed his daily diet, supported his exercise and helped him to clean himself when he couldn't do it) that he decided it’s the best place on earth and he just has to stay there 😀 That's how it happened.. Now he not only has a great mom but also an amazing brother with who he is even sometimes playing!!! 😂🥳

We love this type of stories, when cat finds his right place on earth and we know that his new family will do everything to take care of him 🥰🥰

I went on vacation to relax ... I came - sun, beach, swimming pool, drinks with a palm tree ... and homeless animals. Cats, dogs. According to everyone, "well-kept", because people do not chase them with a stick, something will fall in the hotel, and if someone puts up a bowl of water, it is a Hallelujah badge of an animal lover. I was tearing my hair from my head, everything was thin, in fleas, every second pregnant cat ... And that was just the beginning.

When I met Riva, she staggered on her feet, and despite 30 degrees in the shade, she was sneezing and her nose was flying snot. It was all skin and bones, with fever and foam from the mouth. She was on the verge of death, extremely dehydrated. NOBODY cared about her - because she was "ugly". She had bald patches and bald patches on her head, neck and body, so people refused to touch her or even feed her. I couldn't leave her like that. I grabbed her in a beach bag (imagine Easy Jet didn't let me fly with backup foundation gear: P), called all clinics within 20km. In the end, I found one that was open and where I could get along with someone - Sunday, a tiny town in Turkey, so it wasn't easy. I smuggled the cat into the veto in that bag, where we immediately administered antibiotics and fluids. How the kitty has revived can be seen with the naked eye after only 5 days! look at the pictures, how long has life in eyes

All cats are not created equal, and how each one interacts with you is determined by its inherent personality and early experiences (or lack thereof), which can make it fearful or confident around people and in general. While there is no surefire way to find the perfect cat for you and your lifestyle, knowing your expectations and what makes cats tick will help you bring home a cat who will be able to adapt to its new surroundings and be the pet you desire.

You'll need to do the following to care for a cat:
Provide plenty of human companionship
Provide regular, appropriate meals as well as a steady supply of fresh water.
Make sure the bed is clean and comfortable.
Be ready to clean and empty the litter tray on a daily basis.
Create a stimulating and safe environment for it.
Regularly groom it. Grooming is required on a daily basis for longhaired cats.
Have it neutered between the ages of 3 and 6 months.
Vaccinate your cat against the most common feline diseases on a regular basis.
Worm on a regular basis and treat for fleas.
If your cat shows any signs of illness, take it to the vet.
Make sure you have insurance for your cat or that you can afford any veterinary treatment it may require.

Happy adoption day Pretzel!! The impossible boy, who lived against all odds. During his first year he visited the hospital more often than many cats would during their entire life. We managed to rescue this beautiful cat and stabilise him - he has no longer any underlying health conditions. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this miracle, to all the donators and people supporting, to all the vets and nurses who helped us saved his life :)

Today’s the anniversary of Lucy’s Law passing into law. This was an amendment to the Animal Welfare Act and came into effect in April 2020. THe law regulates and limits the sale of puppies and kittens in England. It was initiated by the story of a spaniel called Lucy, who was used for breeding on a puppy farm. Despite the famous case and the law coming to life, we all know someone who is breeding puppies or kittens for profit, without being a licensed breeder. This is currently considered an offence and can be punished with 6 months imprisonment or a fine or both. Sadly, while the law is now there, we still need a lot of work to be done for people to stop using another’s creature uterus as their source of income, regardless of the quality of life of that mother.
NEVER buy pets from unknown sellers. ALWAYS check if the seller has a licence and is a registered breeder of particular species and breed. Do not support backyard breeders and puppy farms. Choose registered breeders (yes, those pets are pricey) or seek your new companion in a local shelter or rescue.

Meet Thor! He's a gorgeous and voluptuous gentleman who came into our care a couple of weeks ago. He went through a lot in his short life... Found on the streets in 2018, roughly 6 years old, he came to a local vet due to problem with his left eye. Unfortunately, it was glaucoma, and the only way to save him was to remove the eye. The previous owner gave him away, and that's where our fantastic veterinary friend came in! She operated on this chunky boy, made sure his no longer in pain, and contacted us for rehoming. Thor needs to lose a lot of weight, as he currently can't reach his rear and even clean himself :( The foster home measures each meal carefully and the weight is disappearing, slowly but steadily. Weight loss for severely obese pets must be made carefully and with patience, otherwise, we risk kidney and liver diseases.

The population of cats is on a decline and we decided to start bringing new kittens to the world as part of our standard operations... said no real rescue EVER! Even on April Fools Day.

The world cat population is not declining. While we all love our feline friends, this trend is partially due to feral colonies and cats being an invasive species in the vast majority of the world.

We do not need to bring more cats to this world. We have enough! And many of them are homeless and suffer terribly, without being offered any help or support.

By spaying your cat and not allowing it to breed, you're not risking a cat extinction. On the contrary - you're helping to manage the population. Unless you're a registered breeder, there is NO NEED OR EXPLANATION for a female cat to bring kittens - this should be prevented at all cost.

If you want a tiny feline in your house, reach out to a local pet charity or find a registered breeder who provides healthy, screened pets. NEVER buy pets on Gumtree / Next Door / Facebook from unregistered breeders. Do not support local backyard kitten farms that exploit cats for some extra cash. Be responsible with your choices.

Cats have a reputation for being cold and uncaring, but this isn't true!
Keep an eye out the next time you see your cat wandering around the house; their tail will be straight up in the air, potentially with a kink at the end. This is an expression of affection between cats.
Your cat adores you if they headbutt you and rub the sides of their face against you. It is your cat's way of showing affection when it rubs up to your ankles. They'd rather rub up against your face, but they can't get close enough! When your cat rubs against you, pheromones are released that alert other cats that you are theirs.
Cats communicate by purring, trilling, mewing, and chirping. When they're near you, they feel safe and loved. With their specific human, they are exhibiting these lovely sentiments.
Another way your cat expresses his or her affection is by curling up in your lap or in bed with you.
Mutual brushing strengthens the link between cats; this practise helps them relax and establishes trust as well as a community scent to recognise family members. Cats frequently lick their human family members as a sign of affection and friendliness.
Whatever way your cat expresses his love for you, make sure you demonstrate it by keeping him healthy—and that starts with an annual physical from your veterinarian to ensure your kitty lives a long and healthy life with the human they adore ❤️

This beautiful teen cat is Pchelka, Muszka's sister, who is also looking for a permanent home!

Pchełka is about 7 months old, neutered, chipped and vaccinated. He is a very open, go-getting kitten, loves scratching and every possible fun. She gets along very well with other cats and gets on her lap by herself to cuddle. This is the perfect cat! Most of the day she is bursting with energy so she will be very tight when she finds someone who can play with her.

Pchelka is looking for a house that does not go out (with windows secured).

Unfortunately, it seems that the collars with a bell for cats are back in "fashion" ... What is weird, they are often worn by typical domestic cats. Apart from the terribly irritating sound that the cat has to listen to at every step, the collar itself is a huge threat to the cat (yes, also at home!). The cat is NOT a toy, it does NOT need to wear a collar "because it looks nice in it". They are not a decoration for our pets. The collar can be a LETHAL hazard to your cat, especially to the one outside. Even the so-called "safe" collars can not detach as they should. The cat walks its own ways, usually these roads lead as high as possible. What is the risk of a cat wearing a collar? A cat will hang on a fence, branch and even a HANDLE in the house! Pulling the collar with an adjustable circumference too tight, which may choke the animal. Paw getting stuck between collar and neck. Unfortunately, there was a case where the collar grew into the animal's skin and the cat died during the operation. Slipping the collar onto the lower jaw when the cat tries to pull it off, which guarantees the animal's panic and may result in serious damage.

Please only wear collars on cats when absolutely necessary. Remember that cats can chip. Unfortunately, there is no effective way to prevent an outgoing cat from disappearing (and in many cases, unfortunately, death in hundreds of ways, from falling into a car after poisoning or contracting deadly diseases), but the chip is definitely a safer solution than a collar. However, the safest thing is to just not let the cat go if there is no such need :) A cat that does not know life outside will not miss it, you can also teach it to use a harness. The life of a "happy outgoing cat" may be exciting, but unfortunately usually short-lived.

❌❌❌Help for Sohjo! Please share 🔴Gofundme link: https://gofund.me/067e1a2a Sohjo is a 12 years (young!) lady and she came into our charity signed ower by her previous owner due to inappropriate urination in the house… Sohjo never had any proper diagnostics done so when she came to us, she was later diagnosed with chronic kidney disease as suspected… She’s been having her regular check ups (bloods and urine) and she’s been doing very well up until few days ago. Unfortunately she started having respiratory effort, developed open mouth breathing and ended up having emergency appointment at the vets. She quickly improved on some oxygen and xrays didn’t show any obvious changes. It is possible that this is to do with upper resp infection, her CKD flare up, but it also could be asthma or heart issue so these need to be ruled out. We need to do some more diagnostics which unfortunately will require a very expensive specialist referral But there is no other way- we need to know what exactly is going on so we can choose the best treatment option for this little lady. Unfortunately vets think her case is very unusual and they suspect something more sinister 😞 She will require a specialist consult, bloods and urine tests, doppler ultrasound, a heart scan and possibly a CT depending on findings . Sohjo is now scheduled to see Internal medicine specialist at London Vet specialists on Wednesday 12th January and the estimates are for around £3-3.5k.This is a huge amount of money and we are only a small charity… We have managed to raise some funds already, but realistically we need another £1000 by Wednesday to be able to go ahead. Sohjo is currently stable but her breathing is still very bad, there is a lot of abdominal effort… Please help us, she’s such a happy lady with a huge personality and deserves a 5* home. Our foster family says hello.😍🥰😻 Today it has been 4 days since the kittens were born. 🤗 Mum got the name Callisto. 🌑 She bravely manages to take care of the little ones. 2 days ago we took on a homeless pregnant female kitty, today Angelika woke up to mum and 3 babies in her bed just before the vet visit:( Yes literally in her own bed😂 ( what and anusual wake up call🙈) unfortunately this momma was not spayed on time:( but this will be her last litter! Any name ideas? We don’t know the sex of the babies but we like to go by a theme, any ideas guys ? ALERT! Cuteness Overload! :D Little Pinezka should be still with her cat mom for another couple of weeks. Unfortunately, life doesn’t always allow kittens to have healthy kittenhood and feline babies get separated too soon. This means they will still try to suckle to find comfort and calm. Often carers find blankets or toys to be the target of that behaviour. Here however, Honey stepped in! She was recently neutered, which results in quite a drastic hormonal change. In some cases, when the female was in intensive heat and her oestrus was prolonged and persistent, the organism is more prone to misunderstand the sudden hormonal drop as pregnancy and postpartum. This affected Honey, unfortunately (like she hasn’t been through enough…). Normally, these symptoms should weaken with time, and limited affection should be shown to the female cat, to not encourage and stimulate such behaviour. While we tried to calm Honey down after the neutering procedure, the presence of Pinezka fitted very well into Honey’s misconception of what’s going on ;) She is now a full time foster mom. This will not hurt Honey or Pin in any way, it gives them both comfort and is already slowly degrading. Catnip (Nepeta cataria) belongs to the mint family. 🌱 The plant produces a chemical called nepetalactone in microscopic bulbs that coat its leaves, stems, and seedpods. When bulbs rupture, they release the nepetalactone into the air. Cats respond to inhaled nepetalactonin in variety of different ways affecting cat’s mood and behaviors. 😸 It's estimated that one in three cats do not inherit the sensitivity to nepetalactone and kittens don't develop the ability to react to catnip until they are around three to six months of age. Ciri lived on a street before she came to us in September 2020. Once we managed to catch her, she was in such a bad shape that it was impossible to realised how heavily pregnant she was at that moment. 😢 Luckily all that is in the past and since February Ciri is in her furrever home. 😻❤️❤️😻 However, she never forgot about her past and moving to the new home wasn’t as easy as you might think. Sometimes it can take a good few weeks (even months🤔) for a cat to learn how to trust a new place and a new human around. Ciri was very lucky, as her new family had all the patience in the world to help Ciri open up again❤️❤️❤️ It all worked out and look at her now! 😻😻 #rescuecat #adoptdontshop #straycats #catlife #catadopt
