Introducing Aoife and Jimmy, new owners of Hornsey! 🥳

Jimmy is from Brazil and Aoife is from Ireland. They both met in London and the rest is history!

They were running their own dog walking business but wanted to make sure they we’re running everything legally and ethically. Just doing this between them was becoming fractious.

Introducing Louise and Gary Evans, new owners of Horley! 🤩

Louise and Gary are both animal mad and currently own 6 dogs! Louise has always been dog mad but has owned a variety of animals from snakes, geckos, guinea pigs, hamsters and parrots. Gary also had a pet dog growing up and his grandparents owned a farm, so both have been surrounded by animals their whole lives.

Louise worked as a nurse and Gary worked in an airport. They both wanted to do something that revolves around their passion for animals.

They got in contact with Managing Director, Ryan, 3 years ago but due to their new home falling through they never went ahead with the branch. Now three years later, the time felt right and they’ve taken the leap! 🥳

Our top 5 tips to set up a pet care business! 🤓

1. Make a plan - Before you start it’s wise to research other pet care companies in your area and think about the pet owner you want to target.

2. Build your experience - If you don’t have any experience caring for animals, then why not ask friends and family with pets if they would consider using your service for free so that you can get experience.

3. You’ll need to choose a legal structure - Do you want to be a sole trader or a limited company?

4. When building your business - Make a business plan, set up a website and social media platforms to start your following.

5. Market, market, market! - Create leaflets and flyers to help advertise your business. Use online directories, build relationships in your local communities and offer promotions and discounts.

We love celebrating our franchisees successes! 🤩

Meet Sophie Dell, owner of our Eastbourne branch.

Sophie was our youngest franchisee to join the We Love Pets family and she is the perfect example of how even when you're young, if you have the right drive and determination you can be successful! 💪

She always wanted to persue a career working with animals but this dream seemed so far out of reach.
That was until she came across We Love Pets. 🐾

She worked as a dog walker for another branch for a couple of years, then on her 19th birthday she officially became a franchisee of her own!
She launched September 2020 during covid restrictions. Running a business through this was tough to say the least, but Sophie battled through and knew we would eventually get back to normal. She began hiring just before the end of March 2021 to build her team.

Now 3 years later she’s grown exponentially, making 6k on average a month this last year. 💵
Whilst also welcoming her first child into the world. 👶

Sophie thinks that age is but a number, and as long as someone has the determination, drive and passion for their business, then anyone can do it. 💪

She is leading the way for young, aspiring franchisees everywhere!
