After two years of being in rescue our Harry was adopted.💙
He found the perfect home who understands his skin issues and doesn’t mind he has to be the only child.
It was amazing how fast it all came together. We got a dog from GA to CT in less than a week.
It all started when I (Adrienne) was scrolling through my FB on Monday and saw another rescue friend’s (Jenn Ct ) Team Animal Rescue, Inc. post about a family who was looking for a dog. It was the family we had been dreaming of for Harry! He meet all requirements except his weight, but Harry could stand to lose a few pounds and would be in their weight limit. 🤭
Our friend Jenn showed Harry’s picture and his new mom was interested. I spoke to her later and just thought it would be a great match. We immediately started working on a plan. We had to get Harry 971 miles away.
On Thursday our friends at Georgia Canine Rescue and Rehabilitation, Inc gave me information on a transport and it turned out it was the same man (Bill Hall) who transported my personal dog who I (Adrienne) adopted from Jenn years ago! He had just picked up a dog from Cochran for another rescue and was headed to NY. When I called and told him about Harry he offered to turn around and get Harry for me.
This was after hours and Heather Zaresky at GCRR dropped what she was doing to go get Harry’s records together and get him ready so he could make his transport.
After many hours of traveling for Harry and a late night …Jenn’s friend, Brad McDowall went and met the transport to take Harry to Jenn’s house for the night. This helped so much! Harry got settled in and got much needed rest.
The next morning Jenn and Trey took Harry to sweet Holly at Shoreline Pet Grooming in CT to get a bath and haircut for his new family! After that they drove him to his new family who immediately hit it off with Harry.
Harry loved playing with his new toys and rolling on the blankets. We think this was meant to be.
A big thanks to Jenn for going out of her way (like always) to help an animal! She helped get paperwork lined up, did the home check, and drove Harry to his new owners and to his grooming appt.
It took a village and in rescue that’s what it takes these days. It’s nice having others to lean on because it is so easy for rescues to tear each other down. We pride ourselves and work with professionals who pour their heart and souls in saving innocent animals everyday.
