Bristlenose Update #3

Second Bristlenose Pleco spawn has hatched. I have over 160 Plecos. They will be ready for new homes in 2-3 months.

One thing I notice with LFS’s is that many of them receive very small and immature fish. Because of this their mortality rate can be high. At FKP Aquatics I have a vision of raising the fish to a more mature size before they are sent to their new homes. I have spent the past two years working on this concept. Currently I have some Giant Danios, some Yoyo loaches, some Green Tiger Barbs, some Tiger Barbs, some Stripped Rafael Catfish, Piscus Catfish, Fish Net Flying Foxes, Red Arc Pencil Fish, Black Neon Tetras, Redtail Hemiodus, Royal Hill Trout, ready to go. 90 Gallon update: it is scaped and filled. I installed a thoroughly cycled Fluval 406. I will add a Fluval 306 next week...

90 Gallon update: it is scaped and filled. I installed a thoroughly cycled Fluval 406. I will add a Fluval 306 next week. I filled it with 50% fresh water, and 50% form my existing 210 gallon. The driftwood came from a seasoned tank. Got it up to temp and added my wife’s two Anglefish. We will look to add additional fish over the next week or so. Everything we are adding is from our collection.

Well my lovely wife has a new 90 gallon tank. Oh and a beautiful piece of furniture to display it. Next steps filtration...

Just received some new food for my fish from Brine Shrimp Direct. Brine ShrimpFlakes, Golden Pearls Juvenile food, Spirulina Powder, Phytoplankton Plus Wafers, and Paracoccus Powder (Astaxanthin). All this to go with Golden Pearls 5-50 micron, New Life Spectrum Flake, Thera A+, and Fry Starter, Sera Catfish Chips, and Daphnia. I also feed fresh Baby Brine Shrimp, and frozen Blood Worms and Brine Shrimp. What do you feed?

My pair of L264 Leporacanthicus joselimai “Sultan” Plecos. I hope I have a male and a female. Hope to get them to breed....
