Shout out to our girl Luna aka Looney Tunes! Another OG camper who is no longer in our newly altered pick up zone. If she’s not swimming and doesn’t have a stick or tennis ball in her mouth, you can bet her tongue is hanging out 🐶

Luna joined the pack in 2020. She came out 3x a week up until her elbow dysplasia diagnosis and then surgery in March of 2023. After 6 months off, she resumed camp at 1x a week (sometimes more) and her family has been diligent about maintaining her play, exercise and adventure routines. They never gave up on her ability to bounce back and live a full life.

We miss and love you Luna Tuna, but look forward to setting up some play dates for you and your camp bestie, Maple!

Tuesday was especially bittersweet. I wanted to give Bruin, Bolton and Aspen the best send off possible because we’ve narrowed our pick up zone and scaled back to 4 pack walks a week.

Bolton and Bruin are taking a break for now while Aspen joined and had a great first day! I’m so grateful to these families for their friendship, their trust and for all the adventures I’ve shared with their pups for the better part of almost ~5 years.

We’ve been loving on Bruby aka Bru bear 🐻 since he was 6 months old and in his mind he never got any bigger. Lord Bolton 👑 used to go full origami in the car - really gave me a run for it in his first year. Aspenita is a spicy little alligator 🐊 who also taught me a thing or two. Very on brand given their breeds. Needless to say, they will be missed and go down in history as honorary OGs of the So Fetch family 💚

Update on Paisley. It’s been difficult to keep everyone updated while focusing on being entirely present and to grieve what we fully expected to be the loss of our sweet girl. After 4 days in the Intensive Care Unit > Internal Medicine at Burlington Emergency Vet, she is home and resting comfortably for the time being.

Paisley was diagnosed with an acute liver infection and wasn’t responding to treatment. Further testing would have been too invasive given existing complications with no guarantees of survival. Her prognosis was poor. She was very sick and suffering. At the age of 12 we had to consider quality of life and did not want to stand by and allow her condition to worsen so we scheduled an in home euthanasia for New Year’s Day.

We went back first thing this morning wanting to spend as much time with her as possible before having to say goodbye. Much to everyone’s surprise, her condition improved and the doctor told us she might actually be doing well enough to come home and attempt recovery to some extent which is still unknown. We are taking it hour by hour, but her blood sugar is holding on its own and she’s doing OK. She was prescribed 6 different medications and is resting for the next 24 hours. We were told what to look for that would indicate she’s declining again in which case we’ll revisit end of life care to limit her suffering and ensure she passes with as much dignity as possible. She has a recheck scheduled for next week. In the meantime, I remain cautiously optimistic, but we are relieved and grateful to have more time with her. I’m thankful to everyone who stayed close and held space for us during one of the most difficult times in our lives. Your kind words and reassurance have helped carry us through 🙏🏻

The staff at BEVS have been nothing but wonderful, loving, supportive, extremely accommodating and patient as we have navigated a situation in which there are no “right” answers. All we can do is continue to gather information and follow her lead. We trust she will let us know when it is time.

Extra thankful for these sweeties today 🥰
