Thank you Penn State Dairy Extension and Center for Dairy Excellence for the opportunity to share at the Annual Nutrition Conference in Lancaster about Building Resiliency and Buffer Capacity on Dairy Farms through using industry standards and key performance indicators to set up protocols, ensure training and cross-training of employees/family members, and ensuring cow comfort and animal welfare to be able to continually improve a dairy farm.

I had some great discussions and conversations with the attendees (mostly nutritionists and hopefully planted some seeds for taking small steps with their clients for improvement!

On the road again.... Putting in a couple hundred miles to present at the Penn State Extension annual nutrition conference in Lancaster on behalf of the center for Dairy Excellence. I will be talking about building resiliency on your dairy farm using the FARM program and industry benchmarks. 💙

It was great to see some VBSC students attending Ag Live tailgate and auction this past weekend. Over $30,000 was raised for student scholarships from the Ag Alumni society!!!!

Alumni, friends, and Ag Sciences community… were you at the Ag Live Tailgate this weekend? 🏈🎉

Over the weekend, our alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends came together to celebrate Penn State pride, reconnect, and support future students through our silent auction and scholarships.

VBSC students do great things!

Shouting a big "We Are!" to VBSC student, Sydney Phipps, on her success at The Livestock Judging Team Southeast Regional Competition in North Carolina on November 1!

Phipps placed 8th overall and the team placed 2nd in Reasons, 2nd in Beef, 1st in Swine, 3rd in Sheep, and 2nd in Goats.

Hopped on campus today to get some specimens ready for anatomy lab tomorrow! This may not look like much as a frozen blob, but these specimens will be a great supplement to our preserved specimens. I am grateful for all of the animals we utilize in education and respect their lives and contributions to the advancement of science and teaching. Utilizing any animal specimens in teaching is something not taken lightly by anyone.

AG Live Tailgate is my favorite football game of the season. Yes, I don't have to plan, cook, or cleanup for my own tailgate. But more importantly, it brings together my fellow AG Alumni friends for fellowship and support for current students. It's a great collaboration of administration, development, alumni, and for students. The atmosphere is welcoming, the food is plentiful, the Penn State pride is overflowing, the laughs are contagious, the donations are generous, and everyone leaves happy. I don't know the total raised, but the live auction raised just shy of $20K for student scholarships and internships. This doesn't include the silent auction or sponsorships.

Some of my senior Anatomy students were in attendance as representatives of Pre-Vet Club, One Health, and Collegiate Cattlewomen. I love getting to know my students and seeing them succeed! 💙
