Great job on the win against Cornell tonight! Women's ice hockey is the best kept secret on campus! For the past two years, I've rarely missed any home games. Due to schedule conflicts, this is the first home game I've made this year! A fun evening on campus, where all was quiet except the Pegula ice arena!

The PA Farm Show is coming from January 10-17th. While there is plenty to do every day at the show, be sure to stop by 'Moo U' with the The Calving Corner on Tuesday, January 13 to see (and touch!) the amazing anatomy of ruminants! See you there!

The winter solstice has passed. Although winter has just begun, we have turned a corner with a rebirth and return of light. The cold dark week preceding the solstice is both my least and most favorite week of the year. I dislike the cold darkness the most. But, it is my favorite time of year to be in a barn. Cozy and warm, dim barn lights, the sound of hay and cud chewing, and the smell of healthy animals.

The sunrise the other morning caught my attention on my way to work so I pulled over to sit and reflect in the cold brisk morning.

I hope all will find the same peace and happiness this week of rebirth. ❤️

Oh, and for the next few weeks, we gain about 2-4 minutes of daylight every single day. Summer is coming! 😁

Thank you to the students of Sigma Alpha Sorority, Penn State University who wrote and delivered cards to me at the anatomy final exam. They are cultivating women leaders in agriculture and future professionals in the industry!

The personalized messages made me smile from ear to ear. 💙 I hung them in my office!

Even though I feel pretty up-to-date on New World Screwworm thanks to several recent continuing educational meetings in the last few months, it was good to get the newest USDA flyers. Taking some time sitting in the school parking lot this afternoon to read since grades are all submitted!

Vixon, Cupid and the Big Guy were local to me today. When I saw it advertised online, I figured I'd stop in and say hello to some friends of mine. ❤️🧑🏼‍🎄🦌

It was good to catch up with former clients and see the crew thriving!

I enjoy the Diagnostic Lab Conferences for the networking and regulatory updates. Even though it was the day before the anatomy final, a couple students wanted to go along! It was a great day!

Two VBSC major students in the One Health minor attended the PA Diagnostic Laboratory Animal Health Conference during finals week. They had the opportunity to meet the PA Veterinary Laboratory director, multiple regulatory veterinarians with the PA Department of Agriculture, and veterinarians in practice. They also brushed up on numerous regulatory disease updates.
