Being a virtual client doesn’t have to isolating! I created a Facebook group where clients can compete in challenges and meet like-minded dog owners.

How effective is virtual training?

It took me a long time to finally add it to my list of services because I was worried about the effectiveness. But now its my most popular service!
Virtual training is all about teaching you- the owner, how to train your own dog. I've found that many people love the process and how it deepens the bond between them and their dog.

The lack of additional human presence is also a bonus for dogs who may have big feelings about strangers!

Started service dog tentatively looking for the right placement. He would be wonderful for someone who needs a psychiatric service dog. Can place soon, or can continue training and place later. Would love to place him locally or nearby so I can continue working with him and the new handler, but I can also train virtually or pass the baton to another trainer if needed.

He has been started on repetitive movement interruptions and back blocking tasks. He has done extremely well in public access settings like restaurants, stores, malls, and even a reptile convention.
He's very handler focused and in tune with movements. Neutral to strange dogs and other animals. Playful with dogs when interacting but also likes to do his own thing. Lives with a cat currently and is playful, but leaves the cat alone if asked. Great with a place cue and sleeps in a crate at night. Doesn't beg for human food. Can switch handers easily. Very resilient and recovers quickly on the rare times something does surprise him.
Works best with "force free" methods as he can be sensitive to any corrections.
Sa far, not very sensitive to handler emotions.
This boy is pretty small and I don't think he'll mature to be big enough for any sort of weight bearing mobility.

I absolutely love this boy. He is going to be an amazing service dog for someone some day.

Service dog in training Cashew met the Easter bunny at Bass Pro Shops in Rocklin yesterday!

Thank you to the staff for being so kind and patient with us. Cashew was unphased, even after this when we saw him again walking around.

Hopefully we can get back at em soon, but for now I’m only offering private lessons in the morning before it gets hot, or at an indoor location during the day.

Class schedule update:

Because of the amount of clients needing private lessons, I’ve decided to cancel all classes except the 6pm Reactive Dog Social at Curtis Park.
The heat gives me a limited amount of time to schedule everyone so I think this is the best way to help as many dog parents as possible.

As a reminder, you must book at least one private lesson prior to participating in the class.

Its HOT so make sure you're keeping your dog (and yourself) cool.

Because I have Dysautonomia, I'm going to only be teaching lessons before 10am or after 6pm. And even then, I may suggest training inside a pet friendly store or at a park with lots of shade.
Make sure you're providing water during and after our training session. I suggest using a cooling vest as well.

All current clients with lesson times at/after 10am or before 6pm should contact me to reschedule!

Our shelter is overflowing – Free adoptions through next Friday!

Our kennels are completely full, and we are overwhelmed with homeless pets. To help save lives, all pets will be free to adopt through Friday, June 10th. Please share to help them get out of the shelter and into homes. There are so many incredible pets waiting to meet you!

Memorial Day and Fourth of July are coming up quickly! If your dogs are afraid of fireworks, you may want to begin desensitizing now.

During mealtimes or during the day, play the sound of fireworks on a very low volume. If your dog reacts to the sound, it is too loud. Create positive associations to the sound by rewarding your dog with something they like, such as food or play.

Little Bane did so well on his first socialization session!

Socialization is not meeting every person and dog they see, it’s about learning how to handle the world and building positive associations with things that might be scary.
Today Bane got to see lots of cars, people, dogs, shopping carts, automatic doors, and things waving in the wind, all from the safety of my disinfected raised cot.
Safe socialization is so important for puppies, so feel free to reach out and schedule a socialization session

As most of you know I have been on hiatus to raise my service dog in training puppy. This time was invaluable and she has grown into an amazing little lifesaver.

Good morning everyone!

Here's the scoop on what's happening this month:

We bought a house in Antelope where I will be beginning my Day Training program. My waitlist for this is now closed and I will be contacting everyone who has submitted an application. Current and previous clients are welcome to contact me and set up a personalized program.

Private lessons will either take place at Arden Creek Park in Carmichael, my home in Antelope, or at your home if you live within a 10 minute radius of me. There will be a travel fee for those who live outside that radius. I will now be charging a no show fee for those who cancel within 24 hours!

Thank you for your continued support and patience with me while I adjust to busy California life. I am so excited to see all of the progress you've made with your pups!
