The CEO of HPHB had a well deserved spa day. She has worked tirelessly over the last 4 months. Welcoming guests, doing orientation, mentoring the little ones and always finding time for everyone.

We love welcoming new guest woofers to our happy house. Luna has shown him around the grounds, water bowl and where the food is kept! Not ideal but she is a spangle!!! This little guy is a gentle kind rescue who is so very loved by his owners. Guess what and by us now too 😍

All too often when we walk our dogs we are on a mission to get them walked and get onto the next thing. The rewards for them if we let them sniff and maybe don’t walk as far are so beneficial. If you slow a walk down for them, you will benefit too. Your dog will be happier, relaxed and love you even more for their sniffy walk. Thanks .training.now

We know, we know—we’ve mentioned it before, but it’s officially Train Your Dog Month, and this is important stuff! 🐾

The PDSA Animal Wellbeing (PAW) Report, the UK’s largest annual assessment of pet wellbeing, reveals worrying trends about dog training. The last report shows how aversive tools and techniques are harming, not helping, our dogs.

It highlights the importance of positive, reward-based training, which helps dogs feel safer and more secure, and calls for better education on humane and effective training methods.

As the PDSA says: ‘An issue that may be contributing to confrontational behaviour and poor welfare in dogs is the use of aversive training methods.

We are having a gardening day here at HPHB. When I say we are preparing the garden for woofers to play happy and safely in. Obviously I mean me, as the woofers are lounging in the winter sunshine ☀️

As the phenomenon “The goal of your life - adopt a rescue” continues, just weeks ago, Hellas Verona and AC Milan players walked out onto the pitch with puppies from the local shelter.

Fantastic work Italy! Following Romania and Peru and spreading the word about adopting dogs from shelters. Another huge step forwards for stray dogs.
