Kitten update: Good news!! We are excited to announce that the last of Honey's kittens have now found their forever homes π‘ and will be adopted by lovely families in Sydney and the Hunter region. We've grown so attached to each of them and it will be so hard to say goodbye in a few weeks time πβ€οΈπ

At 5.5 weeks already our resident black golden girl Tigress is a spitting image of her Mama. Her paws are dainty and delicate and her tiny claws are now starting emerge. Her playful antics bring a smile to our face and warm our heart β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ
I am quite embarrassed to admit that three out of three of Zsa Zsas kittens have now revealed themselves to be girls πππ We are therefore excited to announce that this beauty will be joining our breeding program in 2024 πππ
Current names in the running for her are Pom Pom and Puff due to her incredibly soft, dense coat π Her big blue eyes will turn a bright green colour which is a genetic trait of the blue golden shaded BSH π

I am excited to announce a gender reveal of Zsa Zsas first-gen golden kittens... πβ€οΈπ
Our resident blue golden is a boy π He has all the classic traits of a solid BSH with his chunky body, short legs and tail and roundest of faces π₯° Our stunning black golden is a girl!!! She reminds me of a little tiger cub π― due to her incredible facial markings and darker colouring and we are excited to announce that she is our keeper for the season πππ And lastly, our sweet black golden chinchilla is a boy!! His fur is so soft and his coat colouring is much brighter than his sisters. He has the smallest tips of black on her ears and also her tail. This makes for a stunning contrast especially once his blue eyes eventually turn green, at around the 8 week stage ππ§‘π
At almost 3 weeks old we have managed to move the kittens out of the nest finally but we're not quite in the kitten nursery yet...
This has been a veeery slow process for us, and a work in progress on the part of first time Mama, Zsa Zsa with her protective instinct going into overdrive.
It's reassuring to see our hard work and patience pay off with Zsa Zsa instantly loving her new (temporary) upgrade π
Zsa Zsa's kittens are 10 days old and have all now tripled their size β€οΈ Kittens are born deaf and blind, but our blue golden cutie has started to slowly open its eyes. They will continue to rely on Zsa Zsa while they are still this young ππ½π
Zsa Zsa's kittens are 5 day old and don't you just love the beautiful colour combinations!! We have one black golden shaded, one black golden shaded chinchilla and one blue golden shaded β€οΈ We will continue to weigh these little guys once a day and monitor their weight gains and development over the next few days πβ€π

We are super impressed with the way Zsa Zsa has made the transition to immediately caring for and feeding her babies, all the whilst keeping one protective paw over them πππ

Zsa Zsa is close to being 8 weeks pregnant π€β€οΈ She is beginning to get a little more rounder in the tummy and will start producing milk as the onset of her delivery draws imminent.
We have set up a comfy little nesting spot for her in our home where she will be close to us, and where she has been scratching around on the nightly. We are anticipating the big arrival in the next couple of weeks and hoping it all goes smoothly for her then π
