Circa 1996…
My love for dogs goes back before I can even remember. Growing up, we always had Australian Shepherds, and they were just another family member.
I found this old photo of me pretending our family dog, “Pete” was a show dog. My sister and I would take turns being the judge, and show off our fancy “show dog”. 🤍🤍🤍

Memphis is PRA clear! It’s pretty amazing the genetic and physical health testing available to dogs now. These technological advances are so neat for breeders when choosing their parent dogs. 🤍🤍Your Morning Food For Thought... As I review Memphis’ DNA results, plan out his OFA certifications, schedule his dog training class, take him everywhere with me for his early socialization skills, buy his high quality dog food.... I cant help but wonder how breeders like me get lumped into the horrible “puppy mill category”?! ......Reputable dog breeders are important.
It cannot be overstated how necessary it is to fix the broken system and shut down the unethical sources that are contributing to dog abandonment—-Though, it’s equally as crucial to support and celebrate the efforts being made by reputable dog breeders. These individuals are often misunderstood and blamed for dog overpopulation, despite their tireless dedication to producing healthy, sound dogs.
The notion that anyone who chooses to purchase a dog from a reputable breeder is directly hurting dogs in shelters is unwarranted and rooted in a lack of education. Responsible breeders do their best to make sure their dogs are genetically and behaviorally healthy — something that is incredibly significant, especially for someone who might need a service dog, therapy dog, or a breed for a certain job or lifestyle. —Rather then the slogan we should change the tune, perhaps to 🤍🐶 .

Good Dog] teamed with to offer a pretty extensive breeder training course based on scientific research. From saving fading puppies, to properly socializing a dog, I have learned so much. This has become an integral resource in my breeding program, and will using it during each litter I whelp. Thank you Good Dog] for offering Breeders this amazing program! 📚🐶🖤
