1 year ago and still as heartbroken. This is what Peter wrote then: "Broken-hearted to have lost our beautiful boy this afternoon. Whether at home, out for walks in the neighbourhood, on adventurous excursions, or at work on Christmas Eve morning, young and old gravitated to Kitzel. Always the affectionate gentle giant and peacemaker, his good humour and mischievousness brought a smile and a giggle to those who knew him. Hence his name Kitzel - the German word for tickle or titillation.
Despite being abandoned as a puppy and having serious orthopedic and autoimmune issues, Kitzel was resilient and determined and had a full and happy life. We are so fortunate to have had him in our lives for almost eight years. We are devastated to have lost him and he has left a giant void in Anna Gh's, Keight's and my lives. Nevertheless, we are comforted that he is no longer in pain and has rejoined his best friends forever - Kassie and Kailyn - who left him over four years ago. He was a very special Dane, and will always remain a huge part of our lives."
