It is with extreme happiness that I share with you that I am currently in Ocala, Florida 🌴

Some opportunities cannot be missed, and this is one of them!

I am working under the wing of the renowned Portuguese show jumping rider Luís Sabino Gonçalves. The quantity and quality of teachings Luís will impart to me is indisputable.

The equestrian environment in the USA is absurdly different from what we are used to in Europe. So, moving to a different continent was already worth it just for being able to broaden my horizons and knowledge of the equestrian industry.

As for my horses, MN Equestrian's trusted partners at Quinta da Pena are taking great care of them. Ricardo Gil Santos will oversee their work during my stay in the US.

I leave you with some of my attempts to capture the beauty of Ocala, even though the reality is a thousand times better 😌☀️🐴🌴

We are, once again, in the comfort of our home after several weeks of jumping at the Vilamoura Equestrian Centre 🏠

It was weeks of extreme learning, and the best thing about having consecutive weeks of horse showing is that we can get into a routine 🔁

The way the Legend was, day by day, growing and confirming his capabilities in the ring was visible to the naked eye!

I've heard multiple people saying he's a dream horse. And he really is.

Onto the next one! 🙌

🔹 Larezzo 🔹

You may have already seen him around here in the last few days. Still, today we officially introduce you to Larezzo (Arezzo VDL x Arpege Pierreville), one of the two horses that recently joined the MN Equestrian program.

Larezzo is a 2016 stallion with above-average intelligence and a strong character.

Despite being a brave young horse, he is also very respectful, and, above all, he is exceptionally cautious over fences.

Similar to the other MN Equestrian horses, Larezzo is also in Vilamoura at the moment. He is jumping 6-year-old classes (1.25m) with MN Equestrian's trusted partner, Ricardo Gil Santos.

If you are looking for a naturally talented horse with a significant progress margin ahead, he may be just what you've been looking for! 💥

🔹 K Le Coupe 🔹

It’s with great pleasure that MN Equestrian welcomes K Le Coupe (Coupe de Coeur x Major de la Cour) to its string of sales horses!

K Le Coupe is a 2015 KWPN gelding with great scope and outstanding ride-ability.

Despite his mature behavior and calm temperament, K Le Coupe also knows how to effortlessly nail a speed class, thus making him suitable for riders of any level.

He is currently jumping 7-year-old classes (1.35m) at with MN Equestrian’s trusted partner, Ricardo Gil Santos, and placed 4th in yesterday’s CSIYH1* 7YO class.

MN Equestrian 🤝 Ricardo Gil Santos

Almost a year ago, I chose Quinta da Pena to be my horses' home and the headquarters of MN Equestrian. Here, I found optimal conditions for my horses and a support system rooted in equestrian knowledge and experience.

The support of international rider Ricardo Gil Santos has been central to my evolution as a professional rider and equestrian. Therefore, it is with extreme pleasure that I announce that we are, officially, business partners.

With the synergies only made possible through this partnership, we seek to amplify our offer of top show jumpers.

The time has come for Newton Du Sor to return to his breeders' home to continue his career 🏠

While Newton was at MN Equestrian, he had an enormous evolution. He had the time to develop as a horse and became an energetic athlete attentive to his surroundings. Despite this, he is still only five years old, and there is still a lot to be explored. I believe that time will make him an (even) better athlete! 💥

I express my gratitude to for letting me be part of the cutting of this diamond in the rough! I wish you and Newton a bright future together! ✨

One of the three super rounds from this weekend at ! 💣
 
I couldn't have imagined a better end to the season, with Legend showing himself available and ready to take another step up to the 1.20m classes.
 
As soon as I tell him it's showtime, Legend forgets he's a youngster seeing things for the first time, and we simply align ourselves towards our goal - which was obviously achieved with success as we managed to jump two clear rounds. What a class act he is!

I could write an entire checklist regarding his evolution, but I think your jaw will drop if you compare the two videos! 😅

It's easy to work with horses that like to learn! 🙌

We are back home after two weeks in Vilamoura! 🏡
If I already thought that Legend's progression had been excellent during the first week, over the second week, I confirmed that he's, indeed, a quick learner 🤩
There are always aspects to improve, but considering that Legend is only five years old, I am more than at the right time to get to know him better! 🤞
No doubt he is a sensitive horse with a lot of ability to do anything I ask him. However, we all know sensitive horses don't enjoy being caught off-guard, hence our need to come home. Now that we are back, I can focus on training all the situations where I felt Legend wasn't at ease 🤯🤗
Overall, it's been a good two weeks and I'm feeling super motivated to continue this great evolution! 💪😄

The first week in Vilamoura with Legend has come to an end 👋🔚
Although it wasn't perfect, I can't help but be happy:
From the first course of the week to the last, Legend's evolution was abysmal 👏
We went from having the difficulties of a very green horse appearing mid-course to an already confident Legend, showing that he is capable of anything! 🤩
With this evolution, I can only be looking forward to starting a new week… 🤗

If a few weeks ago he was a bomb and this weekend he was absolutely explosive at his first official show, this must mean that it won’t take long until he becomes an absolute Legend! 😉

I believe everyone at was able to see how much of a showstopper this young boy is 💁‍♀️

First time in the ring and big boy Legend did not disappoint! 👏
Saying he has got power might be an understatement, he’s a full-on powerhouse with a brilliant future and some big jumps ahead!
Legend felt at ease during the entire course, which only confirms his top character - luckily this is a feature that runs across all my horses! 🙌
Now that I've had the opportunity to experience his behavior and performance in a different environment, it's time to take out the notebook and review the work because, in a very short time, we'll be back in the ring! 📝🏆

And just like that, Newton Du Sor went to his first horse show and jumped three rounds as effortlessly and naturally as if he were at home strolling through our arena 🤷‍♀️💪
All in all, he is a green horse, but not as green as one would expect him to be - what a gentleman this 4yo youngster is! 🙌

People often ask me about my work with Newton and it is basically all about flatwork and letting him be a young horse. I hadn't jumped him since the beginning of the month (check my previous post) and I think we can all agree that he's simply a natural! 🌟

A bit of a slowdown in the rider life to fulfill my entrepreneur duties, but I finally had the time to show you this video of Newton Du Sor jumping a couple of weeks ago 🤍
I’ll never get tired of saying what a cool dude this one is! He’s always in the right mood, and we always pick the work up right where we left it the day before - Newton truly is a solid ally in the making! 👌

Newton might still be green, but this week’s jump school confirmed how willing and committed he is 👏
Since he’s only 4, his experience is practically non-existent which makes me believe he will develop into a very smart and effective horse once he gets the confidence boost that only comes with experience and continuous work 😄
Sooner or later, he will be mastering the show ring! 👌

How can I not feel excited to go to work when this is what I have waiting for me every single day? 😍
I don’t want to rush anything by saying this, but big boy Legend sets the standards high at MN Equestrian - I mean, even his trot feels like we’re about to reach the sky (thank goodness for that fine rear-end motor 💪) 😜

I like to treat all horses at MN Equestrian like they are my own. In fact, before starting my journey as a pro rider, I sat down to reflect and to define MN Equestrian's core values, and this was one of the first coming up to my mind 💭
I've been a horse owner for years. I know what it feels like to wonder if the professional you hired is treating your horse like he deserves to be treated - not because you don't trust the person, but because your horse is your investment/friend/athlete and you want only the best for him - so I keep this in mind every time I'm with my client’s horses 👌

It’s a one-girl show at MN Equestrian 💪
Being responsible for all barn chores + riding makes me more aware of my horses’ needs and specificities.
Plus, spending so much time with them definitely strengthens our bond which, in turn, makes my job easier - it’s all about the commitment over here 😉
