Originally founded as a bakery who used its bakery products for the manufacturing of bird breeding food, the company has become a constantly developing family business. In the beginning, Quiko was positioned in the breeder segment and has presented their products, amongst others, on Europeans greatest bird- and pigeon breeder trade shows. With assistance of successful breeders worldwide, the compa
ny has adjusted their products to the needs and requirements of birds and small animals. In cooperation with international pharmaceutical companies like Pfizer, Shell, Bode and Parke-Davis, Quiko has acquired a multitude of products for the well-being of birds and small animals. This co-operation has enabled Quiko to further develop diverse health care products and insect repellents and introduce them into the market. During the export activities, Quiko developed a close working relationship with SunSeed, an US American enterprise. This linkage has commonly compiled a lot of new products for the pet industry on the domestic and foreign market. From this time on, the philosophy of Quiko was clearly defined: The company was not only an expert for the breeding sector, but also positioned in the pet market, in order to reach the individual pet owner. In the course of time, Quiko has become a specialist in the pet sector for bird and small animal goods. The product portfolio ranges from a main food line and vitamins to health care products and nature based snacks. Due to progressively growing sales figures and an constantly increasing product range, Quiko invested in modern production plants, a well-structured warehouse management and new packaging technologies, in order to cope with the ever-increasing requirements of product security. Today, Quiko has several production devices available to manufacture many different types and forms of products. So, the company is able to constantly develop new and innovative products and to steadily set new trends. At the same time, Quiko is capable to create and produce private-label products for the retail market. On Interzoo 2010, Quiko has introduced its new and nature based product line which consists of total eatable houses, tunnels and bowls out of healthy bakery products.
