Ella's Blind Cat Sanctuary Ella’s Blind Cat Sanctuary is a safe haven for blind strays The streets are not safe for blind cats and they cannot survive as strays. Europe/U.K.

Ella’s Blind Cat Sanctuary is their hope of survival in Cyprus. We also take in other rescues needing help on temporary basis and also rehome into safe and loving homes. Those not adopted will always have a home at the sanctuary. We depend solely on people’s donations which cover vet, food and litter and upkeep of shelter. Without people’s contributions we cannot exist. All cats ready for adoption

are vaccinated, treated for fleas, worms and ear mites and tested for FIV/FELV, Corona, Parvo and Giardia. Adoptions, approximate travel day is 3 weeks after rabies vaccine. All are microchipped. Costs of flights are for the adopter since we do not charge an adoption fee, but we can assist with fundraising if needed. Adoptions within Cyprus will have a small adoption fee, helping to support the next rescue.

We are so sorry to have to ask again so soon, but we need your wonderful naming skills again.
Whilst trying to catch a cat a tourist had fallen in love with, we came across this boy. We thought he'd been injured, so caught him and took him to the vets expecting the worst. However, the vet believes he has neurological FIP. We couldn't abandon him and put him back out on the streets, so he has come to the sanctuary and is starting his treatment, but he needs a name.
So, with that in mind, again we are asking for a €2.00 donation for each name suggestion.

Do you like Moussaka? Would you like Moussaka every day? Then look no further, we can satisfy your craving 😊
Moussaka has been at the sanctuary for nearly a year. He was rescued by a tourist and was supposed to be going to Poland, however his rescuer has decided he no longer wants to have him.
He is the sweetest boy, fine with other cats and will be a wonderful addition to any family.

This beautiful girl is Thea 😺 she is currently in foster care until a place becomes available at the sanctuary.
Thea was found by a tourist found in Limassol in need of medical care. She contacted Sirius dog sanctuary, who in turn contacted us.
Thea will be permanently vision impaired and will eventually need eye surgery, but other than that, she is a healthy playful girl.

This is Kiki, she was supposed to be coming to stay at Pampered Paws cattery for while, but due to a change in circumstances, her reservation was no longer needed.
Her owner, John Martin has very kindly donated the money that would have paid for her boarding to the sanctuary , and we have very gratefully used it to buy new cat flaps and will be making some other improvements at the sanctuary too.

**Update - we apologise to anyone who may have read some very negative comments in this post.
The person who was posting the comments has been blocked for some 'close to the knuckle' comments about not only the sanctuary, but our volunteers and you - our supporters. For this we can only apologise again and hope the rest of you reading this post will understand our decision to not be able to take on any more cats at the moment.

We are sorry to say we are completely full and are no longer in a position to be able to help anymore blind cats until the end of January at least. We are overwhelmed and genuinely cannot take in anymore.

If you aren't in a position to be able to help, Please don't pick up the cat/kitten, and then contact us telling us you've found a blind cat, but that you can't keep it because "you have dogs, your landlord won't allow cats, you have children that have allergies" etc... and if we don't help it'll have to go back out on the street. That hurts more than not being able to rescue every cat that needs our help.

These 3 kittens (and possibly 2 others) need flight parents to Sweden.
If you are flying to Sweden for Christmas or before, please consider being a flight parent so these kittens can go to their forever home.
It doesn't matter what airport in Sweden, as the person receiving the cats will travel to whichever airport you are going to to collect them 🐾

He's here - Noodle has arrived at the sanctuary 💕
He is such a small scrap of a lad 🥺
When he arrived, he ate a full bowl of food and just slept knowing he was safe.
There's a lovely video of him paddling on his blanket which I'll post in the comments.
(His blanket has been lovingly made and kindly donated by Anne Randall along with others all being used by the kittens here at the moment.) Noodle has been to the vets to have a quick MOT and hopefully he'll be fighting fit and ready for his eye surgery soon.

There are many superstitions surrounding black cats around Halloween.
In days of old some believed that black cats were helping witches with their evil deeds and also that they were witches in disguise..
We just see them as gorgeous, and none more so than our beautiful Elvis.

We have a new arrival who doesn't have a name yet, and are hoping for a Halloween themed name 👻🎃🧟
This wee man was one of 3 kittens found in Kiti. The other 2 had sight and have found a home, but this little chap is blind. His rescuer has made a donation to pay for an eye operation when he's older, but we need donations to help pay for his vaccinations and general upkeep.
So, with that in mind, we are asking for a €2.00 donation for each name suggestion.

The cats at the sanctuary really made an impression on our visitors last week.
Kerrie and Angelo came again for another visit a couple of days ago and brought some more Coshida cat food.
And Ange and Clare revisited yesterday and have become 'sponsor parents'.Ange is now the proud sponsor of Foxy - one of our extremely shy cats pictured having treats, and Clare is now the proud sponsor of Iris, who she's pictured with cuddling below.
Thank you so, so much. The cat food, the sponsorship, and your support of the sanctuary is very much appreciated. We couldn't do what we do without it 🐾

We love it when we get updates on any of our previous residents. This is the latest update along with some stunning photos of Toffee and Gucci. They are certainly living the good life 🥰

"Hello there! It’s been a while since I sent an update … life has been wild - just like the cats 🤣 Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that both Gucci & Toffee are doing wonderfully 😻😻 they are living their best cat live and are happy, active and thriving 💜💜
Their favorite show is “bird TV” on their very own “garden channel” 🤣

Ollie and Jenson arrived at their forever home safe and sound early this morning.... And to say they have settled in already is an understatement 😺 How gorgeous is this video of them both cuddled up and enjoying a good fuss and a much deserved rest after their flight. Thank you so much Cassie Thomson for giving these two boys a wonderful chance to live the best life 🐾

A little bit late for 'BLACK CAT APPRECIATION DAY', but better late than never. Elvis is another of our Black Panthers. He's such a loving boy and adores cuddles and attention. Elvis was born blind and was being brought up in a container with some other cats. He really wasn't coping well, and so they reached out to us here at the sanctuary for much needed help. Hopefully it won't be too long until we can say 'Elvis has left the building'. If you can offer him his forever home, please get in touch 🐾

Our gorgeous house lion Merlin left to go to the UK this week. He's currently in a foster home but is potentially adopted already. He is such a gorgeous boy, and I'm sure he'll be a "roaring" success in his new home 🦁🐾
