If I had a nickel every time I got a cat family from the shelter who was dumped at the shelter, I'd have two nickels this year. Which isn't a lot but it sucks that it happened twice. Dumping outside the shelter may seem like the "quick help" option but it seriously overstrains a shelter that was already stretching its resources. Lots of people need help quickly, it's just selfish to do it like this because now other people who've been waiting have to wait longer or won't get help, the shelter has immediate expenses for seven animals they didn't plan for, and other animals have to stay stuck at the shelter so this family could get out. And it's dangerous, because we know nothing about the animals or their health or past. It's negligent and rude and entitled. If you're going to say "it's better than dumping them on the road" or "at least they left them where they'd get help", please just don't.
This is mama Toast and her littles, Peanut Butter, Jelly, Cinnamon, Avocado, Beans, and Butter. Love a carb! They'll be available from KCK Animal Services in a few weeks. Mama Toast is the sweetest and most chill girl! She and her babies didn't deserve to be tossed at a shelter like inconvenient trash.
