Hello everybody!
We are hoping to enter an online grooming competition replacing the Royal melbourne show grooming comp this year due to its cancellation.
I need to recruit some dogs!
Please don’t be offended if your pooch isn’t chosen, I can only enter twice in each category and really need to set myself up with the best chance possible by selecting the right coat type for the grooms I would like to try :)
Seeking:
-ANY DOG BREED/MIX WITH AT LEAST 2 INCHES OF COAT TANGLE FREE (at or before 25th October, so plenty of time to grow out) to enter salon freestyle category (NOT a breed specific groom, so would prefer no poodle feet or face), might do Asian fusion but depends on coat 🙂 keep in mind I might clip in any way shape or form so I’ll discuss what I want to try but it will be a very “big” groom in terms of being extra af. Will be clipped so not suitable for people with hand stripped breeds or dogs they don’t wish to be clipped.
-ANY DOG BREED/MIX INC SHORT COAT, to enter into the “creative” category. Must NOT have a black coat as it would require lightening which is a long procedure for a dog. Brown is darkest I can do but prefer white/ cream.
Creative means I might use dog safe colour, and think making the dog look like another animal or doing a pattern/ stencil work on a short coat. Dog cannot have sensitive skin/ lots of allergies as it wouldn’t be ethical to use any sort of dye despite being dog safe on a dog with skin issues.
For a short coat, I would LOVE to try making some designs and patterns, very open to theme so owner will have options 🙂
-I MIGHT do a breed specific entry, however this isn’t my strong point and I’ll be entering for fun and to learn rather than expecting to place. Will consider: poodles, bichons, westies, lagotto, schnauzer, cocker spaniel, etc. Basically any purebred with a specific breed clip (so no dogs shown naturally or short coats), I might consider some of the other gun dogs however I’m not an expert in hand stripping.
And I’ll also be using Archie in the creative category for a bit of an ambitious colour attempt haha
