8 unadulterated minutes of our first one handed dressage test. Piris, changes, half pass, rein back, leg yield, all done one handed. We need more time at this. It’s most definitely a work in progress but I’m very proud of giving it a decent go in our very first season of WE 💪🏻
A short reel of some of the boys cattle cutting clips before my unfortunate dismount after the saddle slipped 😖
Working eq Finals 23
Strap yourselves in…this will be a long one!
Me and the boys decided to give a new sport a try this year. So we went to our first Working Equitation competition in April and we’ve just finished competing at the National Finals this weekend.
I am so immensely proud of my boys - they take on anything I throw at them and we’ve had a pretty successful season in our first year!
At the finals this weekend, both of them have been amazing, with good dressage scores, working with me in the most technical Ease of Handling obstacle round I’ve ridden and then loving the speed round as usual. We weren’t as quick as others this time so in the weekends completion came 3rd and 4th.
But, the real crunch point was finding out where we’d come over the season and I had worked out that both of my awesome ponies had managed to finish on a total overall score of 189 over the year so that put them in equal National Reserve Champion position!!!
At that point it comes down to who had the best dressage at the finals - so Harley cob is officially the Reserve National champion at Inter A for @abweofficial 🤩🤩
So we partied - some harder than others, mentioning no (real) names @holly___barber BARFER 🤣 and then got ready for the separate cattle cutting competition today.
It started so well, both boys on different awesome teams and we were penning cows mainly sucessfully - UNTIL my saddle slipped on George as I turned and galloped after a cow and I ended up falling at speed and bit the dirt 😖
But mild concussion aside, we had already helped our team in 3 rounds and were rewarded by winning the cattle team competition!!
So both boys have a sash!!!
And in my eyes, both are Reserve National Champion at Inter A in our first season!!!
So many people to thank for their help, support and all the camaraderie of the sport so I hope you all know who you are and 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻😘😘😘
Bring on next season!!!!

Paddy WE
Pads was a superstar at Lynne Macleod WE clinic last night! He’s gonna be mega at this. 🤩 Simple changes, sideways pole, bridge, pen, gate - no problem mum!
And so lovely to see some of the old Central gang too 🥰 thanks especially to Shirley Wright for helping me load Paddy who wasn’t keen in the dark and rain 🙈 and Anna Charlotte Cannata for filming. I think we’ve converted some of them to WE!! 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Pas De Deux lap of honour for winning the fancy dress at the Dressage Circle show !! 🤠🤠😂😆🥇😜🙈🙈🙈💗
Galloping cobs
Wait for it… they aren’t the fastest to get up the hill 😂
Ponies have had their first soaking and are now enjoying the sprinkler 😎
Btw, the electric is not on 😂
Pads has been back out in the field for 6 weeks. It would appear that he’s been growing for all of those 6 weeks 🙈🙈
But today I got him back in and thought I’d restart him again for a week or 2 - this was a pretty solid start 😂😂
He is such a dude - just a feckin big one!!!
Paddy investigating the sprinkler to keep cool 😎
Pads and I went for a play at a local working equitation playground set up by Lucinda Wynn- Wynn Lusitanos Stud Farm. Despite torrential rain at times he took everything in his stride and wasn’t fazed at all! Such a good boy to take out to a new venue although I think our jumping may need some work 😂 more vids in comments…
Sorry if I’m raving about my ponies recently but…
Today Georgeous and I completed our first ever Inter 1 and managed to bag some points with 63.53% 🎉 🎉!
There were plenty of mistakes but he really gives me the feeling that we are totally capable of improving at this level - not bad for a Connemara project pony and not a natural dressage rider!
Im so proud of where we’ve got to - he has come such a long way 💕 A brilliant test riding clinic Twyford Mill Equestrian on Saturday reminded me that we can do alot of the movements well and the more technical ones will improve with time - Tom Graham will make sure of that!
After a year off with lameness all of last year, I am so chuffed to have got to this level for the first time on George - he really is something else .
Thankyou to Martin for coming along and videoing and supporting all the way .
I really do have the best ponies and support team in the world 🥰
