Sometimes, life really chooses the most poignant ways to unfold its events. Last Saturday, it was like any other regular stray feeding session. All the volunteers gathered at our usual meeting point, mixed the food for the doggies and prepared a few sets of canned food for the kitties. We set off to feed the cuties on our respective routes once we were done with the mixing. All went well and most of the cuties came out happily to greet us with waggly tails or kitten eyes and rubs 🥺
Unfortunately, our food supply started running a little dry towards the end and the other teams that had completed their routes earlier were waiting for us. In order not to keep the rest waiting for too long, we did not visit Jacky (big puppy) as we knew he was being fed by the workers. Sorry baby Jacky 😔
The next day, we went back to catch a pregnant mummy cat, pass a worker some food and check on Jacky but Jacky was not there. It seemed he had gone missing 😰 One of the workers said he escaped from his playpen in the morning. They only realised it in the afternoon. By then, he was nowhere to be found 😭 The next morning, we received a very bitter pill from the factory staff. They informed us that Jacky had been knocked down by a speeding heavy vehicle 😭
Poor innocent and adorable little baby Jacky 😭😭😭 He was barely a year old, when he should be exploring meadows, sniffing valleys and doing cheery little zoomies. We did not even get to feed Jacky one last hearty home cooked meal before he departed 😭💔 This will forever be a regret of ours 😔 So so sorry Jacky... 🥺 hope you have lots of yummy food and friends to play with over the rainbow bridge 🙏🏻
Jacky may be just one of many other strays struggling to lead a safe and healthy existence, and one of many other dogs named Jacky in the industrial estate, but he will always have a special place in our hearts as our beloved fluffy eyeliner friendly puppy. Along with so many of the other dogs that we
Imagine being abandoned in the rubbish dump of an industrial canteen, getting used to living off scraps and others’ haphazard alms, then having your only home, the canteen, shut down before your very eyes. This is the life of four canteen kittens and a mummy cat (unsure if the mummy cat is the kittens’ mum). While some of the industrial cats we feed have workers to care for them, cats like these canteen cats not only have to fend for themselves, they also have to bear with the stench of the rubbish dump just to scavenge for food to survive 😿 It is a life we cannot bear to imagine. No sentient being should live like this.
The canteen cats really need your help 🙏🏻 The kittens are about 4 months old. We are unsure of the mummy cat’s age but she is quite small sized and looks young, maybe about one year old or so. As the cats have not had any caregiver since young, they are skittish and need time to warm up to humans. They will slow blink at you but sometimes they will hiss due to fear, when there is a sudden motion or loud sound. We believe they will become very loving cats with some love, time and patience. They have already learnt to use the litter box and are comfortable enough to eat, drink, defecate and groom each other. They will also come to smell your hand. Some have even started asking for chin scratches 😻 If you can help to foster or adopt them, please let us know. Please help us to turn their lives around. Thank you❣️🐱
Thank you furry much @bcubebabies for helping to arrange for the trapping and sterilisation of the cats and @purelymeowdayne and @bcubebabies for donating food and litter boxes to the cats 🙏🏻🐱💗 *slow grateful blinks from the cats to you*

The saddest goodbye to our beloved Kor Kor and Mei Mei 😿😿
Every goodbye is difficult but some goodbyes are just more heartbreaking and painful than others. Next to Wilbur and so many of our other beloved stray babies, our goodbye to Kor Kor and Mei Mei is probably one of the saddest ones that we had to say 😭💔
On Wednesday, 22 March 2023, we took over the care of two neonatal kittens from Angela, a kind lady helping to feed the cats in an industrial canteen. Her hands were full but she knew she had to rescue these two babies when a worker informed her about them. We, too, could not turn a blind eye to the kittens’ plight, so we agreed to look after them temporarily, before another more experienced fosterer made space for them. Their mummy was missing and they were from a factory where other kittens had either gone missing or passed away from lorry accidents or illnesses 😿💔
From the photos, Kor Kor and Mei Mei did not seem that small, so when we first met them, we were surprised by how tiny they were. They were smaller than our palms and still needed to be bottle fed 🥺 They were sooo cuuuteee but we were also worried that we would not be able to take good care of them, especially after what had happened to Wilbur 😿
Thankfully, the first few days went well. Kor Kor and Mei Mei were active and would play with each other. They were also drinking well and meowing loudly, just like how healthy kittens their age should be doing. With each morning that we woke up with them next to us, still alive and attempting to climb out of their box, we were so grateful and happy. It was a blessing. “Hello! Are you hungry? Awww you’re sooo cuuuteeee 💗🐱 squishyyy” We would talk to them like this every morning, and they would respond with little squeaks, high pitched meows and kitten eyes. Most times, they would be sleeping either on top of the hot water bottle or beside it, and they will huddle together. They were sooo sweet and adorable 🥺🐱💗
Unfortunately, the good times did not last very long 😭 O
*rub-a-tub-tub rub-a-tub-tub* Pepper 🐱: “Foster meow-my gave me plenty of chin rubbies and a carrot for being a good boy. I love the chin rubs but I wish she had given me a fish instead of a carrot 😹 Recently, my little sister Millie left the house. I miss Millie so much 😭 Foster meowmy gave me a little deer toy to remember Millie by. She is cute but I still miss Millie. Swipe left to see me kissing the little deer 🦌 & chilling with my foster siblings 🐱 Foster meowmy said Millie found a kind pawpa and went to live with him. Will I find a pawpa or meowmy too? I am a very good boy. Will somepawdy give me a furever home too purr-lease 🥺🙏🏻” Cute little Pepper boy has come such a long way from being a fearful and skittish kitten to an endearing and sweet baby boy 🥺🐱💗 He meows like a baby and often expresses his love and gratitude through head butts and purrs. This is such a far cry from his apprehensive past, when he would swipe, growl and hiss in fear and defence. Pepper is proof that everypawdy deserves love and a chance. With some patience and care, a life can be transformed. We are really proud of Pepper and hope that he will find his furever happiness and home soon 🙏🏻🐱💗 Pepper is about 11 months old. He has been sterilised and vaccinated and is FIV / FeLV negative. If you would like to adopt Pepper, please DM us, @thestrayaffairs or @cathousesg. Thank you❣️🐱
Socky boy🐱: “I have taken a shower and am all ready to meet everypawdy at Cat Welfare Society’s adoption booth at NParks’ Pets’ Day Out event tomorrow (3 September 2022, 10am-6pm, East Coast Park Parkland Green)! Heehee. Please come meet me, Fudge, Nara and other cuties tomorrow!
