Doggie Ramps

Here at Doggie Ramps, we love our dogs. We are obsessed with wet noses, wagging tails, and that deep, longing gaze in their eyes just before we hand over a treat. Our pups are living in a human world. Unfortunately, that world often doesn’t meet their needs.

As adorable as it was watching our dog Lakia’s fluffy butt wiggle as she scrambled onto the couch, we were very concerned every time she jumped off. Lakia is a corgi. Corgis are one of the breeds that are most likely to suffer from Intervertebral Disc Disease, or IVDD.

We searched for dog ramps online, but everything we found was ugly and utilitarian, incredibly expensive, or wouldn't work well for Lakia’s build. We liked some of the stairs that were available, but our vet told us that the series of small shocks from going up and down stairs all the time wasn't much better than jumping on and off the sofa.

We would do anything for our dog. If ugly or incredibly expensive ramps were the only option, we would do what we had to do. But we had another idea. We were sure that we could make a ramp that could prevent Lakia and dogs like her from hurting themselves, without ruining the look of our home or spending a fortune.
