Just a little hedgehog mite…🦔

Reminder I’m outta here! I will be back March 11.

I have relief coverage for every day EXCEPT Tuesday, February 18. Staff will be in the office from 8am to 12pm on Tuesday but there will not be a doctor there. Otherwise, we’re open for business as usual.

I’ll be checking in on emails and labs as I can but am not going to be available for urgent questions. ❓

I will see you guys in a few weeks! Hopefully by the time I get back I’ll be ready to say goodbye to the crutches! 🩼

Hi all!! Just to clarify because we’ve already had some confusion this morning.

I do have coverage for the entirety of my vacation—we will still be open! I’ll just be out!

The dates I will be out are February 14-March 11. We will be OPEN during this time. ☺️

Anyone else’s pet refuse to move when bundled up? Here is paralyzed Scrappy. 😂

If you haven’t figured it out yet, I’m the one on crutches. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

The week of Christmas, I was putting around on my snow machine with the little man on my back…I turned to look at something and felt a huge pop in my hip. Turns out that was part of my pelvic bone breaking off. After weeks of moping about in pain, I succumbed to peer pressure from my employees and got checked out. And now I’m on crutches for several weeks and hopefully will heal in time. 🩼❤️‍🩹

So…I do want to say I haven’t been at my best because I’ve been in substantial pain. So if I’ve seemed a little off, that’s why. I’m doing my absolute best to show up and be present for you all when I really just want to be on my couch because it’s the only place I’m comfortable. I appreciate all the patience and support I’ve been shown. If I’ve let you down in the past few weeks, I am sorry. 😞

Andddd on that note—we had already planned a trip to visit my family. Turns out it’s fortuitous as it will allow me time to rest. I will be gone from February 14 until March 11. I am also looking for more relief when I return to give myself more downtime. I love my job, I love my staff, I love my patients…I don’t love being miserable all the time. If I don’t start taking it a little easier I won’t heal…if I don’t heal, I’ll need surgery. 🔪

Anyways, sorry for the long post. I’m so very grateful for all of you and your trust and support. Please continue to support my clinic, even when I’m absent. ♥️

Simon Says: please leave your retractable leash(es) in the car. 🦮🐕‍🦺

Effective immediately, retractable leashes are prohibited at BVC. While we all can certainly understand the allure of these leashes, they are a hazard in the clinic. ⚠️

I’m not naming any names but someone on the staff is on crutches currently, and we need all pets in the building under control so that no one gets tripped up.

We have slip-leads available—please feel free to grab one when you come in! And take it with you! 😊

Thank you for your consideration and cooperation!! This new policy is permanent, even once the crutches are gone.

First, I'm disappointed no one caught my mystery guest in my video. :( Not even a guess...sigh.

Anyways! We will be CLOSED from 4pm to 5pm today for a course reviewing CPR (ya know, kind of important). If you need to call, please leave a message and we'll get back to you once the training is complete!

I hope you all had an amazing Christmas! I’m really enjoying my parents being here, just wish we had more snow! ❄️ This is a photo of them on their first dog sledding adventure, thanks to !

Just a reminder we are open tomorrow from 8am to 6pm and closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Tuesday is end of the year inventory (our favorite) so we will not be filling medications! Please call tomorrow if you need medications for the holiday!

Otherwise we’ll be open limited hours Thursday and normal hours Friday.

Don’t forget to call tomorrow, Monday, if you need meds for the holiday! Stay safe everyone! And just in case I forget, Happy New Year!!

Howdy everyone! We have a ton of these packing boxes with styrofoam shipping containers. Great for sending fish or other frozen goods! They need to go, and I hate to toss them. I sell them for $5 and use the proceeds to buy lunch or goodies for everyone! Please stop by and/or let us know if you want one…or all of them!

TGIF, am I right?!

I'm not feeling super swell today, I think I have a little GI thing--I started feeling pretty gross yesterday afternoon, very gross overnight. 🤢 We're trying to move our appointments up to earlier in the day so I can go home and rest.

We will likely be closing early--if you need to pick anything up, please do so sooner rather than later.

I’m behind as usual but congratulations to sweet Clover the cow 🐄 for winning the 4th Annual BVC Costume Contest!!!

Here’s what Clover’s owner said about her:
“She’s a hospice foster fail who just randomly came into my life but has turned into my co-pilot and goes everywhere with me. I got her the cow costume for Halloween but because it’s soft and she loves blankets it’s turned into almost like a thundershirt and she now wears it to work 😂 She also requires a single chicken nugget every night before bed 😂 if she doesn’t get it she will make sure to remind you”
