Emma's human here... I am sorry to bring the very sad news that we lost Emma yesterday. She had been in declining health over the last several weeks and she let us know over the weekend she was ready to move on. Our hearts are heavy with this profound loss and our home is 110 pounds emptier. We are grateful for each moment she graced our home and will miss this magnificient gentle giant 💔

Oh, how I love the smell of snow
It's my "gotcha day" today :-) Three years ago I was adopted by my family. That makes me about TEN years old. The humans are saying this is a very special day to them. I won't argue, just keep those treats coming! I have to say, it's been a pretty good day for me too
This dog had significant food guarding issues when she came to us three years ago. Jimmy has never been fearful of anything, he thinks access to Emma's bowl is expected for him. Thankfully, she has come a long, long way and she doesn't mind ❤️🐱

So, the humans thought it might be a good idea to adopt a friend for me. He seems okay, he's about half my size, they say a Pointer mix and we call him Oliver. I sure hope they don't expect me to babysit 😉
It's been pretty hot and humid here the last few days, I prefer the indoors and air conditioning when we are at the peak heat times. But I do step out every now and again to see what the squirrels might be doing in my yard 🐺🐿️
Here I am... enjoying a couple of my favorite pastimes, relaxing on the couch and giving the stink eye to that woman who won't put her camera down.
February 18 - Watching one of my humans clean up some leftover leaves from last fall.
It probably seems impossible that I could be any prettier, but my groomer works magic on me - I mean... just look at me :-) This is from September 2016.
Who's a pretty girl?
Another day... another walk in the park. This is one of our local county parks, it is a 605 acre park with hundreds of species of animals and plants with habitats of marsh, seasonal ponds, wooded sand dunes, wetland forest, old fields and restored prairie. In addition to a dog beach, there are seven miles of trails where we got to enjoy it all!!! This photo was taken a Frog Pond last April.
Out for a hike with my people... me and the man got a little further ahead of the woman than I find comfortable, so this is my "hey Ma... you coming?" look. How about you put that camera down and catch up?!"
Another day... another walk in the park. Oh wait... is that a squirrel? Oh how I'd like to get a hold of that squirrel!!!
Never underestimate the power of a relaxing walk/sit at the park, especially when the flowers are in bloom!
Who is ready for Spring??? I am I am!!! This is a photo from last Spring, but I'm looking forward to taking photos in the park again this year. I think I make the flowers look pretty good, right?
Here come the kids!!! Some dogs may run when they see kids screaming and running toward them. Not me, I welcome it! Being adored and fawned over is my very favorite park activity
Last fall (October), I was out for a walk with my people. I do love a nice walk in the park on a crisp fall day, but the best part... I heard a bunch of kids off in the distance, laughing and yelling - they were pointing at ME!

Last spring I took a muddy hike with one of my humans and it was fantastic!

Is it almost winter? I miss my favorite season!
Fall can't get here soon enough, Summer is not my favorite season. Taking walks in the heat is not high on my "want to do list". I do, however, really enjoy rides in the car. So while we don't have a ton of recent photos, we do have quite a few older photos that have not been posted, so going through those over the next few days to see what might make the page. Wishing everyone a fantastic day! :-)
