The power of negative punishment!

To see true change in a behavior modification dog, you must see a shift in their mindset. If force is the only tool you're utilizing, true change doesn't happen. There must be a level of cooperation. That's not saying we don't use pressure and teach the dog how to respond appropriately to that pressure, but we need real deep meaningful change to set this dog up for success.

Being overly permissive to dogs that have very strong feelings, can lead to very undesirable behaviors that the dog eventually becomes very confident in displaying. Dogs like this one need a complete mindset shift to be their best self!

We found the formula for prepping this dog and our relationship shown through with excellent scores! I'll post the video later when I have better service. I did choose to take some points for handler help and help him front. For 5 years of his life He's had a heel recall, not a front, something we're working on, but I decided to help him in trial ❤️ I knew we had this in us and I'm so proud that everyone got to see it.

“We let our horses push us around too much,” Buck Brannaman tells us. He’s in a round pen, working with a woman’s bay c**t that keeps trying to push into Buck’s space. “I would never let my horse get this bad.”
The c**t’s owner, who’s standing just outside the round pen fence, calls out to Buck, “He has tantrums!”
“No he doesn’t,” Buck replies. “He doesn’t know what’s to be expected of him. Nobody ever said to this horse, ‘Hey! Get off of me!’ I’m dealing with people problems here, not horse problems.”
Finally, the c**t moves easily along with Buck and his horse. Buck hops off his horse and goes to the c**t.
“No hard feelings,” he softly tells the young horse, petting him on the forehead. “It’s just the way it works.”

📌Once you pay off debt, can you go ahead and revert back to the same spending practices, and expect your finances to remain in a good place❓

📌If you work hard to make improvement in ANY area of your life -- if you revert back to your old ways, will the improvements stick ❓

➡️ If you want your dog to be better, then you have to be consistent with training. Period.

If you want your dog to do something, or change something, then you have to consistently put the work in.

✔️ It all boils down to YOU making the decision to make a change for your dog.

My favorite Stripey dog, Ash learning some very important play skills

Hand- put your toy in my hand and don't chomp

Yes- release to toy that I'm holding

Get it- release to toy away from me (indirect marker)

When we are playing two ball he doesn't get to decide when he switches toys with me, he needs to wait for me to tell him drop. You'll see at the very beginning of the video I'm waving the ball around making all sorts of noise, he thinks he's coming in for an exchange so he preemptively drops the ball instead of waiting for me to tell him to. I make him go back and get his original ball, thinking around toys is the first step to thinking around decoys.

Little known fact about my Rottweiler Bel......she could easily have major resource guarding issues If it weren't for training and bringing her up in a very structured life. She's a dog that needs constant tuning up as she's always poking at that line. She's one of the most fun dogs I've ever trained and has so much spark and life.

A question our clients often ask, "how to take a bone, or a toy, or something of value from my dog?". Most people have the belief that you should be able to take anything out of your dog's mouth at any time just because they are your dog. However I don't believe that, if somebody ran up and tried to grab something from me I would probably bite them too. What I do train for, give my dog a leave it or drop it command and they must step away from the item. This is something I teach all dogs not just dogs with the potential for resource guarding issues.
