Have a look at our lovely Sooboog filly Soorapide, she is in the middle of rehab from an unfortunate injury after her last jumpout. She can now head out to a full sized paddock for the next 2 months after which we hope to see her back in work. Sosa has shown us really nice ability so let’s hope we get to see her back on the track in 2024!
Regal Son is coming along beautifully at Mannerim Park with Amy McDonald handling his pre-training. No surprise considering it’s basically horse heaven. The guys have got a good handle on him and we expect to see him back at the jumpouts in about a months time 💪
Although we’ve been quiet on the public front, it’s been busy as always behind the scenes. Nitro is getting closer to her due date for a maiden foal in the coming months. Ringo is just about finished his spell. Sunny is getting his first taste of education at Percydale Lodge and Sosa is approaching her 2nd jump out in her first serious prep. Plenty to look forward to, let’s hope we are hitting the race track again soon 🤞💪
Ringo has enjoyed a bit or R n R between runs but has worked well in the last few days to suggest he is feeling well and ready for a big run today!

After an injury setback, our 2yo filly Soorapide has been allowed to graduate to a big paddock and is loving her freedom and new mate! Thanks to Troy and Anne at HSP Advanced Equine for your care and management of our horses and we look forward to getting her back into work in a few weeks time!
Ringo is thriving off his racing and we look for further positional improvement tonight! With a lack of staying options available in the coming weeks he is on the back up but is very much up and about, let’s hope it shows on the track.

An incredibly tough week for so many people, the racing community has again shown its strength by wrapping its arms around everyone in need of support. Deans positive attitude and work ethic has shone through his colleagues this week as we attempt to push on.
We are back at the races today with Ringo, who has been steadily improving all prep. He has enjoyed a few days at HSP Advanced Equine after the last run and once again came away feeling fresh, Troy really knows the horse now and his work since shows how good Ringo is feeling. Today looks a suitable assignment 2nd time at the 2400m, with the plan again to settle more forward and use his stamina to good effect. Good luck to our fellow owners!

Can’t even begin to imagine how his family is feeling, thinking of you all as we toast to a legend! His infectious smile will forever light up the jockeys room.
We’ve headed up north to find some Sun for the day and a suitable track and distance for Ringo to hopefully show his best 🤞
With a better barrier we are hoping to settle closer and finish off strongly.

Regal Son hit the track today for his final tune-up in a jump-out at Stawell Racing Club. He has done plenty of ground work leading up to his return to racing and he looks to be in good shape for his first up run in the next week or two. Thanks to Dean Yendall for jumping back on again and to Beau Treloar for getting him to this stage, good luck with your apprenticeship, we know you will be a great asset for the QT team in the future.

Well that wraps up a solid first prep for Regal Son. He ticked the 2400m box today and looks like a promising stayer for the future. Whilst still maturing and strengthening he has tackled some of Victoria’s better 3yo stayers and shown he is competitive at that level. Off for a well earned break while the sun braves it’s way through the clouds 😂🙏

Regaliti visited Palentino at the beautiful Glen Eden Stud today, the farm is a work in progress but the condition of the mares, foals and stallions is a credit to Sonia and her team. The big boy behaved himself well and Regaliti was a good girl as usual! Fingers crossed for a positive scan in 2 weeks.
It’s Cranbourne Cup Day, providing us with a lovely opportunity for Ringo to stretch out a bit further in distance and hopefully show some improvement in the result from his debut, lining up in todays 3yo Stayers Classic. After a torrid run at the valley he showed a glimpse of his ability to pick himself up and finish the race off strongly. We are hoping for a much smoother run in transit today and to see him hitting the line hard again as he learns his racing craft.

11 years ago, as a very inexperienced horseman, I stumbled across an agressive, athletic filly at the Inglis Sales ring. Despite her strong pedigree her sire wasn’t popular and had somewhat of a bad name for breeding naughty progeny. A more European style of horse which wasn’t desired at the time, we snapped her up very cheap and went about learning the racing game with her. Along with her wins we had some great days out at the races. She quickly became apart of the family and with her tenacity, stamina and heart, we knew she wasn’t going to be moved on after racing, she would be our first broodmare. Fast forward to today her first son Ringo, sired by underrated group 1 winner Hampton Court will make his debut at the Valley tonight.
A very special occasion for our family and our business, he is one for the future but let’s hope his mums attributes shine through and he is competitive tonight. Good luck to his great group of owners.

Ringo completed his 2nd jumpout at Horsham yesterday and is now ready to go to the races. The first progeny from our foundation mare Regaliti to get to the races is a big achievement in itself and we can’t wait to see him do her proud.
Stella and I heading down the Hamilton Highway again today to Sunny(🤞) Penola. She has been a trooper this prep, battling, injuries, bad luck and unsuitable conditions she is still maintaining her form at home and looks spot on for today!

For a thoroughbred the shortest part of its life is normally the racing career, for some they don’t even make it to the track, whatever the situation may be we ensure our and our clients horses find a good enjoyable life after racing and we were lucky to deliver Sainte Marie’s to her new home yesterday! Regal Son(Ringo) had his first jump out today at an arctic Burrumbeet. The aim of the day was to get his barrier certificate and track his progression. He handled the barriers beautifully thanks to previous work from Damian Hanrahan and Pierre and Emma Fouchard and recent work from Beau who you can see here walking him around today. Beau is a future star of the jockey ranks and his commitment and work ethic are to be admired, he gets along very well with Ringo and hope to see them partner up, doing the real thing in the future. From home on racing.com or at the races you see the finished products at the races, but the work and effort to get them to even Ringo’s stage is enormous. The people mentioned above along with his owners are what make this industry tick and I can’t thank them enough for their work and support. We are and probably always will be a small company, so the expertise of breakers, trainers, farriers, vets and riders is very important to help us along the ride 💪

After a short break to welcome in our newest member, our beautiful son Jo(Johannes), we are back at the races this weekend with Sweet Pickings!
In my absence Glenn Gln and Briony Deeker-Fradd at DFX have done a fantastic job doing the ground work with this mare and she is in great shape coming into her first up run. We all know the ability she has, let’s hope she can add consistency to her resume this preparation 🤞

Stella has been a tricky case this prep but I think she is back on track, she ran a much improved race at Swan Hill last week and is being aimed at a run next weekend with a few nice options available. Here she is having a nice easy maintenance gallop up the fantastic Hill track at Ballarat Turf Club at Sportsbet-Ballarat.

Ringo has joined Fontaine Del Rosso for the last couple of weeks of his spell. He is really turning into a man now and we can’t wait to get him back to the track. A few new owners have joined on which is great and if he continues to progress the way he is going, we should all have something to look forward to in the future! Sweet Pickings is loving life at DFX Pre training and is on track to kick off her prep in early April 🤞
We sent Big Dusty on holidays yesterday, like with everything it took him a little while to figure out what he was expected to do 😂. Despite his quirks he is a beautiful horse and has been a pleasure to train, I’ve seen a lot of ability behind the scenes and in his short career so far so I can’t wait to see what he can do in future preparations. Again thanks to Brittany Louise and her team 💪
Ringo has finished his pre training with Forge Lodge thanks to Pierre and Emma Fouchard! It takes a team to train a horse and these experiences and work will bring him a long way towards his racing career 👌. He will come home for a couple of months on the grass 💪
Small steps but great to get our first placing today with Stella at Camperdown. A great steer by Dan Stackhouse gave her every chance and she finished well but is still learning how to put her opposition away! Thanks to Tom and Nicki for transporting the girl today, she even got a couple hours in there beautiful paddocks post race before returning home.
2 weeks on from her gallant first up run, Stella is ready for her next assignment at Mornington tomorrow. Tatum returns to the saddle and as you can see they get along well, looking forward to seeing that come to fruition on the track 🤞 Looking for an improved run as she works towards the Christmas period!
