Wombat was found on the side of the road in Missouri, October 2022. She was waiting for her owners to come back for her. They didn't.
The BTRM is an organization of like-minded volunteers committed to protecting the health and welfare of Bull Terriers in need of homes. It extracts them from their unfortunate circumstances and gives them the care and comfort that they’re due. The BTRM will ensure that their medical needs are addressed, that they’re properly evaluated and given time to decompress. We will rehabilitate them if need
be, and work towards finding them their final and perfect homes. We will commit our advocacy and protection to the duration of each dog’s life, following up even after they’ve been adopted. The BTRM, works with private individuals, rescue professionals, animal shelters, pet owners, ethical Bull Terrier breeders and veterinarians throughout the United States, to provide these services. Its board members have over 20 combined years and hundreds of rescue cases worth of experience. If BTRM is unable to provide direct support, cases will be referred to organizations or individuals that can. As with most successful rescues, the strength of this Mission, is in its network and the relationships it has cultivated. The Bull Terrier Rescue Mission does not discriminate due to the age or health of its Bull Terriers. Professional veterinary care is provided – including spay/neuter – prior to matching each Bull Terrier with the right adoptive home. No animal is euthanized for need of medical care. That option only exists if the animal displays extreme threatening behavior towards humans, if their health is unrecoverable, or the outlook is dire for their quality of life. Well we celebrated Wombie’s “bday” today bc she has officially been with us a year. We all love her SO much and she has definitely filled a void from loosing our Douglas. Not sure who rescued who but we are so lucky. ❤️❤️

Mission girl Wombie has taken to being a house dog like hand in a glove. From perching herself on all cushions and furniture to surveying the yard for pesky interlopers.

It was a balmy 24 degrees here in Missouri today, so a new sweater (Eddie Bauer of course), a chewy bone and an indoor game of fetch were in order ❄️

Spay recovery is going well! Getting lots of snuggles and even a sweater for the cold Missouri weather!

Bull Terrier Rescue Mission’s Wombat coming out of her spay. It was determined that she’s got Demodex but the spay went on without any complications AND she’s heart worm free 🥰 She is currently being loved on by her foster mom and two little human sisters.
As for the state of the Mission right now, our biggest need is raising fund’s and finding fosters able to take on medical or behavioral cases.
In light of the former, we’re running our in the Fundraising group, found here https://www.facebook.com/groups/btrmfundraising.
Any sort of bids, small or large (especially on items that have no bids) will help this fundraiser succeed in making room for new cases to come in.
Bidding ends this Monday, November the 14th at 7PM EDT.

Wombat getting her last bath for a while as she prepares for her big day tomorrow. This sweet little lady will be getting spayed and chipped and vaccinated. We’ll also test for HW and anything else she might have.
