Sometimes getting a puppy to the FURever family is a little complex. Breeder to ground transporter to flight nanny to family.

I was so happy to take Nauset from the breeder to Jalen at DFW Airport so he could fly that fur baby home to Averie.

Not about to lie, Jalen and the puppy fell in love at first sight, and my heart just melted.

This is the joy of pet nanny life. I delivered Jasper to Janey and her dad Chris. Jasper was tail wagging happy, and Janey was in heaven.

Yesterday was a twofer of puppy deliveries. Meet Waffles, a red phantom AussieDoodle, and Sparkles, a phantom blue merle AussieDoodle. I can’t even tell you how happy the families were to receive their fluffballs of love.

Here at Fur Baby Flight Nanny home base, we keep 2-3 dogs that are spaced 4-5 years apart. That way you have a senior dog to teach the young ones their place in the pack and a young one to keep things lively.

OUR STORY

I have had many pets over the course of my life - dogs and cats, a rat for a high school psychology cluster, several ferrets, and a pot bellied pig. My husband trained bird dogs before we met, so all of our dogs have been trained to both voice and hand signal commands (more about this in a future post).

Over the last 30 years, our dogs have been frequent travelers, both to the farm 70 miles away and on the 800+ mile trips to the mountains of Colorado. "Get in the truck" is their favorite command, and "hiking" is their second favorite word, after "hungry".

A dog breeder friend needed help delivering puppies to their new owners, and I volunteered to help. A quick drive down to DFW Airport to deliver a pup to a flight nanny and a longer ride to meet a new owner halfway were my introduction to the concept of pet transportation as a business.

I am registered with the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture as a pet transporter, following their strict protocols for health and safety, and am insured by Pet Care Insurance for any of life's unexpected situations.

I love being the calm, caring hand and voice for an animal in the sometimes stressful situation that is travel. I would love to share in your joy when it comes time to transport a pet. Someone who accompanies your fur baby on their travels, specifically in the cabin of an airplane, creating a calm and comforting environment during what could be a stressful situation. Whether you are adopting a pet, a breeder sending a puppy or kitten to their new home, a family needing help transporting pets due to vacation or relocation, or an active duty service member whose fur baby will be cared for during your deployment, Fur Baby Flight Nanny would like to facilitate your pet’s travel.

How does this work?

Click on my webpage link to let me know the age and size of your pet, approximate travel dates, and the airports at each end of the trip, and I will work up a proposal for you. Sign the contract and pay the deposit, then leave the worrying to me. I’ll be in contact every step of the way.
