As a professional dog trainer, you should always be a student yourself and always striving to be better and learning from those better than you. I never claim nor will I ever claim to be the best. I will always be a student and most of what I know comes from this man right here, Larry Krohn. He is known and recognized all over the world for the great things he has done to help the animal. One of the greatest compliments I’ve ever received was a time when he highlighted the work I did with a German Shepherd on a live broadcast he was doing… I was like WHAT and even today calls me by name and says, I remember your work…. WOW such a high honor to be recognized by him!!! Thank you Larry!!!!!

VERY DISTURBING POST!!!!! There are a lot of really bad/unethical trainers but then there is scum like this person!!! I usually don’t call people out by name but this company needs investigated!!! Imagine what she does off camera. I have delt with resource guarding on many different levels and you deal with it accordingly as the dog is guarding but you don’t treat the dog this way!! I feel so bad,angry and helpless at the same time so we need to share and run this trainer out of business. Folks, this is why I say all the time, you better know where your dog is going. I’ll post her business info in the comments……..

Update….. The dog has been pulled from the Shelbyville shelter and is in the home of a family member of the person that passed away. We are waiting to see if he’s going to keep her or find her a home. I’ll keep everyone posted. Thank you!

Where do I start!! This is Kiwi….This young lady brings this beautiful Pitbull to my facility today after telling me that she spent $2000 on a board and train with another ‘Trainer’ that in my opinion, stole her money!!! I was blown away and disgusted at the lack of training that they charged this woman for. This dog went to them for basic obedience, reactivity and more and they wouldn’t let the owner even work her own dog at the go home lesson. How in the world is an owner suppose to learn? Pathetic trainers, and they should be out of business! Everyday many dogs die to euthanasia but this breed often times doesn’t even stand a chance! Well today we gave her the chance she deserves! No leadership with a runaway dog equals DISASTER !!! You must be a strong /confident leader especially with a breed like this. We have a ways to go but I think Kiwi and owner did a great job!!!

Hey Everyone. A follower of my page contacted me about this beautiful shepherd needing a home. Her owner passed away and she’s stuck in the Shelbyville Animal Shelter. I haven’t met the dog but she’s suppose to be very sweet. I don’t know if Shelbyville is a kill shelter, but we gotta help this girl find a good home ASAP. Anyone that will give her a good home, I will give a free one hour in home lesson.

This post is sad and frustrating!!! You may remember the post I made about this out of control Mal/Shepherd mix dog. I had 4 conversations on the phone with the owners and 2 in person visits at my location before they signed up for training. Three weeks later, they backed out of training and said they were giving the dog back to the original owner. Well, yesterday I receive a call that really shocked me and still does. They called and told me they went with another trainer in Franklin and the dog came back in really bad shape. More behavior problems, sick etc. I asked how much was the training and I couldn't believe what I heard. It was only $100 cheaper than my board and train. Now the owner doesn't have the money for real training so they need to rehome the dog.
Why am I making this post? It's not because I lost a lot of money,,,people can take their dog where ever they want, but look who suffers for it,,,,, THE DOG!!!!!
Everyone wants the best price but as I have said over and over and over, you better know where your dog is going and as I see and experience all the time, that cheaper price, most of the time doesn't work out! NOW, what kind of life is this dog going to have? We may never know.

Week 2 with Barney is really focused on getting him out and exposing him to as many things as possible. He does get anxiety outside of his bubble so it’s extremely important to put him in these situations to show him that he can do it. There’s a fine line, because you can push to much so you really have to know and pay attention to your dog. This is a slow process and every dog learns and gains confidence at different paces. He’s doing very well but there’s more work to be done. Good job buddy!!!

Finishing up week one with Barney. A lot of the content might not seem like a big deal, but it’s a big deal to the dog! He’s young, lacks confidence, has never been in public other than the vet so he has to be worked through all of that. Barney also would not load up in the car so if you watch his body language, you can see his confidence building. Later he got in my truck. Do I act like a goofball sometimes? YEP because I’m in it to win it with the dog!!! If I’m just a dry fart, why would I expect the dog to get excited to learn. We packed a lot into one week and well keeping pushing. Great job buddy!!! Lv this dog!!!!!!!!
