Think of what the world's billionaires could do if they shared more of their wealth to end poverty and help people. Currently, there are over 100 million street children around the world. Over 20,000 children die every day from preventable causes, including thousands from diarrhea caused by dirty water and unsanitary living conditions.
Meanwhile, the 8 richest people hold onto as much wealth as half the world.. https://www.oxfam.org/en/pressroom/pressreleases/2017-01-16/just-8-men-own-same-wealth-half-world

"According to UN sources there are up to 150 million street children in the world today. Chased from home by violence, drug and alcohol abuse, the death of a parent, family breakdown, war, natural disaster or simply socio-economic collapse, many destitute children are forced to eke out a living on the streets, scavenging, begging, hawking in the slums and polluted cities of the developing world."

"An estimated 801,000 children younger than 5 years of age perish from diarrhea each year, mostly in developing countries. This means that about 2,200 children (under the age of 5) are dying every day as a result of diarrheal diseases."

"Today there are 815 million people who do not have enough to eat. 60 percent of the world’s hungry are women. Nearly 1/2 of all deaths in children under 5 are attributable to undernutrition. This translates into the unnecessary loss of about 3 million young lives a year."

"Nearly two million children a year die for want of clean water and proper sanitation while the world's poor often pay more for their water than people in Britain or the US, according to a major new report.
The United Nations Development Programme, in its annual Human Development report, argues that 1.1 billion people do not have safe water and 2.6 billion suffer from inadequate sewerage. This is not because of water scarcity but poverty, wealth inequality and government failure.."
