This is the second time in 24 hours that Little Brother has become hypoglycemic and borderline seizing. I'm thinking it's time to bite the bullet and hospitalize him for a couple days ... 😫We are packing our things and heading to Gainesville. We need approximately $900 to hospitalize Little Brother for 24-48 hours. He unfortunately needs more care than I can provide at home. Little Brother is extremely lucky I heard his sad desperate cries from inside the incubator. Even finding him minutes later could have resulted in a different outcome. We are playing a game that I know I eventually will not win... he needs more. 💔
We hospitalized Little Brother Sunday 11/17 from 7am-9pm and he bounced right back. Because he bounced back so quickly, was active, eating, and doing well, we decided to take him home. Day before yesterday he stopped eating his puppy food. I made some boiled chicken and he ate that, fine, boiled chicken it is. Yesterday, I noticed it took a lot of encouragement to get him eating. This morning, Little Brother barely ate. Fast forward a couple hours and we're now hypoglycemic and critical.
Thank God I have the supplies and knowledge I do. I grabbed 1ml/kg of dextrose. I struggled to hit his cephalic so I put him on his back and gave his dextrose bolus through his jugular vein, with no help, and he didn't move an inch... 10 seconds later he stood up and climbed into my lap. Crisis averted... but only temporarily.... 😫😭

🚨WARNING - SEIZURES - MAY BE GRAPHIC TO SOME🚨
Little man kept me up all night. From midnight to 8am he's had 3 witnessed seizures. They are very short, but frequent. We did start him on Keppra and praying that will slow down some of these seizures soon.
At this point, it seems impossible to find a rescue for him. We are now looking for a TEMPORARY FOSTER (Thursday PM - Saturday PM). Just 48 hours! He is eating well and very active. You can borrow our incubator if needed. He will need his Keppra 3x daily (every 8 hours). Feedings are every 3 hours during the day and every 4 hours at night. Please let me know if you can help.
