Meet Coffee. Coffee was recently confiscated by Orange County AC Officers after an anonymous complaint about a neglected dog. With a dreadful BCS of 1/9, Coffee also suffers from hookworm and flea anemia, heartworm disease, and severe malnutrition/starvation. Sadly, this was not Coffee's first encounter with Animal Control. Let's go back a few years..
In 2021 we rescued Gracie from OCAS. She was found as a stray and her microchip led us to her so-called owner. When AC Officers visited the home linked to her microchip, they found her owner and an 8 week old puppy. That 8 week old puppies name was Coffee. The owner claimed Gracie was stolen 5 years ago and he had not seen her since. We could not prove otherwise and it unfortunately ended there. Coffee was healthy and left in the home according to AC Officers. This may have been the end to Gracie's suffering, but most likely just the beginning for Coffee.
Here we are, 3 years later... Coffee is now found in the same condition as Gracie was. 💔
